A Texas law prohibiting transgender care for children will go into effect on Friday after the state Supreme Court overturned a lower court’s temporary order. It’s good to see that there are still some courts that have some sanity left over.
A Texas district court concluded last week that the statute prohibiting minors from undergoing medical transition violated the rights of transgender children as well as the supposed rights of doctors who follow “well-established, evidence-based” medical protocols.

Texas officials promptly appealed to the state Supreme Court, the state’s highest court for civil matters, after the judge imposed the temporary order.
The Supreme Court’s order removing the injunction provided no additional explanation for the decision’s constitutional grounds. However, a full hearing on the statute and the lower court’s finding is due soon. The ruling of the Texas Supreme Court, according to the American Criminal Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), was “cruel.”
“Transgender youth and their families are forced to confront the start of the school year, fearful of what awaits them. But let us be clear: The fight is far from over,” the group declared.

Minors who have already begun transitioning must wean themselves off their existing regiment in a “medically appropriate” manner.
The sick part of this is that the medical establishment went all in for this because of the ca-ching, ca-ching, ca-ching money involved.
Texas Values policy director Jonathan Covey welcomed the ruling as a victory for the state’s youth.
“Texas kids are safer today because of the Supreme Court ruling,” Covey added. “Protecting children from harmful and dangerous gender transition surgeries and puberty blockers is in the best interests of the child and something we all agree on.”
Texas will join over 20 states that prohibit children from transitioning, with different degrees of restrictions and punishments for offenders. Some states have gone so far as to penalize healthcare providers who help kids in transition, while others have made exceptions for juveniles who have already started transitioning.
