House Speaker Mike Johnson Releases Hours of the January 6 Tapes [WATCH] [UPDATE]

UPDATE: More footage will be published in the coming months, but not all the tapes from the Capitol attack will be made public. Approximately 5% of the footage would be suppressed because it may “involve sensitive security information related to the building architecture,” according to Speaker Johnson.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has kept his word: all 44,000 hours of tape from January 6 are now available for public viewing and analysis. Johnson issued the following statement in conjunction with the clip.

From Speaker Mike Johnson:

When I ran for Speaker, I promised to make accessible to the American people the 44,000 hours of video from Capitol Hill security taken on January 6, 2021. Truth and transparency are critical. Today, we will begin immediately posting video on a public website and move as quickly as possible to add to the website nearly all of the footage, more than 40,000 hours. In the meantime, a public viewing room will ensure that every citizen can view every minute of the videos uncensored.

This decision will provide millions of Americans, criminal defendants, public interest organizations, and the media an ability to see for themselves what happened that day, rather than having to rely upon the interpretation of a small group of government officials.

I commend Chairman Loudermilk and his team for their diligent work to ensure the thousands of hours of videos are promptly processed to be uploaded to the committee’s public website. Processing will involve blurring the faces of private citizens on the yet unreleased tapes to avoid any persons from being targeted for retaliation of any kind and segregating an estimated 5% of the videos that may involve sensitive security information related to the building architecture.

Speaker Johnson took to social media to announce he was releasing all of the January 6 video footage.

Former President Donald Trump praised Speaker Johnson for having the fortitude to release the videos on his social media platform Truth Social.

“Congratulations to Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson for having the Courage and Fortitude to release all of the J6 Tapes, which will explicitly reveal what really happened on January 6th!”

After viewing a lot of the released footage, it becomes quite clear that there was no so-called insurrection. The current events have highlighted more clearly than ever that the Democrats capitalized on the riot, which was made up of less than 5% of people who attended the protest and which some argue was incited by agents embedded by the FBI, to strengthen their grip on power in America. Nancy Pelosi made sure there was inadequate policing for the event. The whole thing was set up to fail by the dark forces within the Democratic Party.

There is widespread speculation that the 2020 election results were manipulated and that there was dishonesty surrounding the events of the January 6 protest. It is believed that federal prosecutors and judges were complicit in this scheme. Numerous defendants associated with the January 6 incident have reportedly endured extended periods in jail, awaiting trial under conditions described as extremely harsh and deplorable.

The cases of the January 6 defendants need to be reopened because there is sure to be exculpatory evidence that was intentionally withheld from their lawyers. This story highlights the seriousness of how our system of justice has been turned on its head with prosecutors and judges, allowing discovery and Brady evidence to be withheld. Those who participated need to be disbarred and charged with crimes.

There is a need for accountability for all those who misrepresented the events of January 6, especially the members of the January 6 Committee, whose actions and decisions have been called into question. Each committee member should be held responsible for their conduct and the role they played in this process. The media, often criticized for spreading misinformation, must also be held accountable for their alleged role in propagating what some consider to be the Democrats’ deliberately misleading narratives about the events of that day.
