According to The Jerusalem Post, a classified military intelligence team known as IDF Team 504 was instrumental in exposing Hamas’s use of hospitals for terror and hostage-taking. Unit 504 has received thousands of calls from Gazan Arabs, who want to help them fight Hamas and are obviously dissatisfied with the terror regime’s rule.
Unit 504 has interviewed approximately 300 Hamas terrorists, including individuals who were present at Shifa Hospital, where Hamas militants were disrupting the medical staff.

He went on to say that Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists were “camouflaged” in the clothing of various types of medical personnel, including exploiting the emergency room for their operations.
According to the Jerusalem Post, another Palestinian, Hamdoah Riad Assad Samlah, described how Hamas militants were employing 50,000 Palestinian civilians as human shields at the enormous Palestine Red Crescent Society facility in Gaza. He stated that no one would oppose Hamas because they would be killed.
According to Samlah, Hamas covered their rockets in civilian blankets to hide them from the IDF and was constantly shooting from the building’s environs.
According to the Jerusalem Post, another Palestinian told Unit 504 that he saw around 100 Hamas militants occupying Rantisi Hospital in Gaza, divided into tents of five to six men each. He further stated that he was in the Sweden Hospital, where he spotted at least seven Hamas militants. Despite their civilian attire, he claimed to know one of them personally and that the rest were armed.

According to the senior officer, his squad received thousands of calls from Gazan Arabs wishing to help them fight Hamas, “an order of magnitude which we had never seen before. It seems that the residents of Gaza are unhappy with the barbaric conduct of Hamas.”
Unit 504 has scores of Arabic-speaking field interrogators stationed throughout Gaza’s fighting zones. According to the Jerusalem Post, Unit 504’s field interrogation personnel are not only bringing terrorists back to Israel for questioning but are also questioning terrorists in the field in real-time to assist IDF forces with their immediate battle maneuvers as well as finding Hamas’s sensitive locations on nearby Gaza streets.
