According to a new series of polls, former President Donald Trump leads President Biden in five important, toss-up swing states that Biden won in 2020.
According to polls conducted by the New York Times, Siena College, and the Philadelphia Inquirer, Trump outperformed Biden among voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, while Biden led in only one battleground state, Wisconsin.
Four years ago, Biden won all six battleground states that were polled. It would be enough for Biden to win Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in 2024 to ensure his re-election, as long as he didn’t lose any of the states he won in 2020.
The poll results showed how issues like as the cost of living, the economy, the Israel-Hamas conflict, and immigration have produced widespread dissatisfaction among Americans, creating questions about Biden’s ability to enhance their quality of life.
Nearly 70% of polled Americans believe the country’s political and economic structures need to be overhauled, with only 13% believing Biden will be able to effect such change during his second term.
Almost 40% of Trump supporters polled claimed the economy or cost of living was the most important issue in the election, with many questioning the Biden administration’s claims that the economy is improving.

Trump and Biden are close among 18- to 29-year-olds and Hispanic voters, despite the fact that Biden won more than 60% of the demographic vote in 2020.
According to the Times survey, Trump gets 20 percent of black voters’ support, the greatest number for any Republican presidential contender since the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The former president’s increasing appeal among young and nonwhite voters appears to have opened up the electoral map, propelling him ahead in more diverse states such as Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada, where Biden previously excelled.
Despite this, Biden appears to have retained much of his support among older and white voters, who appear to be wanting less fundamental changes. As a result, Biden has grown more competitive in swing states with a higher proportion of white people, such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Abortion remains a contentious topic among voters, with 64 percent in battleground states believing it should always or mainly be legal, including 44 percent of Trump supporters, according to polls.
According to the surveys, nearly 20% of voters blame Biden more than Trump for the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, a startling statistic that will undoubtedly motivate the president to strive to rebuild trust with that group of voters.
Still, voters favor Biden to Trump on the issue of abortion by 11 points, 49 to 38 percent.
According to polls, Trump is doing well with voters who feel the political and economic structures need to be overhauled, including 2% of “very liberal” voters who supported Biden in 2020.
Furthermore, around 13% of voters who voted for Biden in 2020 but do not intend to vote again stated that his foreign policy on the Gaza conflict was their most critical issue. Approximately 17 percent of those voters expressed sympathy for Israel.
Between April 28 and May 9, polls surveyed 4,097 registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
