They accused her of politicizing Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery, which they characterized as courteous and at their request.
Darin Hoover, the father of Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, and other family members stated that Trump had offered them “the utmost respect, compassion, and understanding,” in contrast to what they perceived as neglect by Harris and President Biden. Hoover specifically questioned Harris’s sincerity and humanity, pointing out the lack of personal outreach or acknowledgement from her or Biden since their loved ones’ deaths.
The incident arose from Trump’s visit to Arlington, where he participated in a wreath-laying ceremony and was filmed, resulting in a dispute with cemetery staff about recording laws. Harris labeled the event a “political stunt,” claiming Trump violated the hallowed place. However, the families involved backed Trump, claiming that they had invited him and requested the images and films to remember their deceased family.
The families’ messages respond to Harris’ comments on X, in which she stressed Arlington as a place of solemn remembering rather than political action. She also cited previous controversies, such as unconfirmed reports about Trump’s opinions on fallen soldiers, to emphasize her point about respect for military service.

Imagine the vice president of the Biden White House that botched the withdrawal from Afghanistan, getting thirteen service members killed due to the sheer incompetence of the administration, is now running for president, and politicized their deaths on a social media post had the gall to accuse Trump of doing the same.
