In a move that could redefine “shaking things up,” President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly mulling over a revamp of the White House press room—yes, even the press room isn’t safe from the Trump touch. According to his son, Donald Trump Jr, there’s talk of swapping out the usual suspects from the mainstream media with people like podcaster Joe Rogan, who has a bigger audience now than most mainstream news media outlets.
Trump Jr. spilled the beans during an interview with Daily Wire host Michael Knowles, who couldn’t resist poking at the idea. “I wonder now as your father is assembling his team, as maybe Karoline Leavitt is looking at the new press briefing room chart; maybe it’s time to reorder that chart; maybe take away some people’s seats,” Knowles mused.

Apparently, Trump Sr. is seriously considering giving the boot to the traditional media outlets and ushering in voices like Knowles—or Rogan, because why not?
And Trump Jr. was all in: “I’d love to see Rogan in the White House press briefing, or even rotate guys out.” Honestly, imagine Rogan grilling politicians while sipping a protein shake. Iconic.
He continued, “We had the conversation about opening up the press room to a lot of these independent journalists. If the New York Times has lied, they’ve been adverse to everything, they’re functioning as the marketing arm of the Democrat Party, why not open it up to people who have larger viewerships, stronger followings?” Translation: Why let “fake news” monopolize the front row when YouTubers and podcasters have millions of fans hanging on their every word?
For context, Trump recently appeared on Rogan’s wildly popular podcast right before Election Day—a move that paid off big time in turning out the male vote. Rogan’s influence is no joke. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris had her chance to join the podcasting fun but declined the invitation. According to a campaign aide, they didn’t want to tick off the far-left crowd that isn’t exactly Rogan’s biggest fan. (Translation: They were scared.)
