Another day, another Trump Cabinet confirmation—and the Democrats are absolutely seething.
The latest addition to Trump’s Make America Healthy Again team? None other than Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who just secured his new gig as head of the Department of Health and Human Services on Thursday. That makes him the 15th Trump nominee to get the Senate’s stamp of approval.
Now, if you thought this vote was going to be smooth sailing, think again. The Senate confirmed Kennedy 52-48, with the ever-predictable Mitch McConnell (KY) voting against him—because of course he did. At this point, it’s almost like McConnell’s just checking boxes on his How to Annoy My Own Party list. The man has now voted against three of Trump’s picks, including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
But don’t worry, the Trump team isn’t losing sleep over McConnell’s opposition. Republican Majority Leader John Thune (SD) took to the Senate floor on Tuesday and made it clear that Kennedy is ready to shake things up:
“President Trump has tapped Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the charge in making America healthy again,” Thune said. “He promises to make HHS a collaborative, transparent, and science-driven agency under his leadership.”
Translation: It’s time to bring some actual accountability to public health.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThune doubled down on the need for a little… let’s call it housecleaning at HHS:
“Our public health agencies do critical work, and I’m a supporter of their research, and I’m proud of the contributions they make to American leadership and medicine and innovation.”
That’s the polite way of saying: Some of you guys really need to get it together.
“But if we’re going to Make America Healthy Again, the agencies doing this important work have to rebuild some trust with Americans.”
No kidding. After the absolute circus of the past few years, “rebuilding trust” sounds like an understatement.
The GOP Rallies (Well, Mostly)
Of course, no big confirmation battle is complete without a little intra-party drama. But this time, several key Republicans stepped up to back Kennedy in the final stretch.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska wasted no time endorsing Kennedy moments after his nomination advanced on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sen. Susan Collins of Maine also jumped in with her support on Tuesday.
Now, this is the same Murkowski-Collins duo that voted against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth—so you never quite know which way they’re going to go. But, for Kennedy? They fell in line.
Trump’s Winning Streak Continues
Kennedy’s confirmation is just the latest win in what’s turning into a Cabinet sweep for Trump. The Senate also just confirmed Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence on Wednesday and even moved Kash Patel’s FBI nomination forward on Thursday morning.
And, as expected, Democrats are absolutely losing their minds.
All those so-called “long-shot” nominees? Yeah, they’re all getting confirmed. One. By. One.
Somewhere, a whole bunch of Resistance Twitter accounts are typing in ALL CAPS.
And where would we be without the fake news media’s interpretations of a Trump nominee being confirmed.
The Washington Post, where democracy goes to die, put out a headline:
RFK Jr. confirmed, elevating anti-vaccine activist to nation’s top health post
RFK Jr. is not an anti-vaccine activist—something he has made clear time and time again. He has openly stated that he is vaccinated, and so are his children. Yet, unsurprisingly, The Washington Post couldn’t resist slipping in a condescending jab while reporting on his confirmation.
So, stay tuned for more lies coming from the failing legacy news losers for the next four years.
