So, picture this: Chris Cuomo, sitting there when Maxine Waters decides to drop one of her classic rants about race and politics. And by “classic,” I mean the kind of rant that makes you wonder if she’s auditioning for a role in a political soap opera. What followed was a masterclass in awkwardness, with Cuomo looking like he’d rather be anywhere else—like, say, stuck in traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Cuomo said some things that made viewers go, “Wait, does he even like his own party anymore?” Unfortunately, that’s yet unclear.
Let’s be real, Maxine Waters has been serving up hot takes for decades. She’s the kind of politician who makes conservatives shake their heads and liberals nod along like, “Yep, that’s our Maxine.” From calling for public harassment of Trump officials during Trump’s first term, to defending the Rodney King riots and the 2020 BLM St. George Floyd riots, she’s never met a controversial statement she didn’t like.
In a recent interview, Waters was at it again, blaming Trump’s success on white voters and completely ignoring the fact that Trump’s support among black and Latino communities is growing faster than her list of enemies. She even doubled down, saying Democrats lost key elections because of—you guessed it—racism and sexism. Not because their policies might’ve been, I don’t know, out of touch or anything.
As Waters went off, Cuomo’s face was doing all the talking. At one point, he looked like he was about to facepalm so hard he’d leave a mark. You could practically hear him thinking, “Why did I agree to this interview again?”
But here’s the thing: Cuomo actually pushed back. Sort of. In his signature “I’m trying not to get canceled” style, he said, “I will not contest it, but it wasn’t the controlling factor,” referring to Waters’ claim that race was the main reason for Trump’s win. Translation: “I’m not saying you’re wrong, but… you’re wrong.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThen, Cuomo brought up Bernie Sanders (yes, that Bernie) and how the Democratic Party has abandoned working-class voters. He pointed out that the party used to care about everyday Americans but is now too busy playing identity politics bingo. Waters, of course, wasn’t having it. She stuck to her script, insisting Democrats did everything right and only lost because of racism and sexism. Sure, Jan.
Maxine’s face could have stopped bird crap in mid-air.

One of the juiciest moments came when Cuomo almost called out the elephant in the room: Kamala Harris wasn’t chosen for her qualifications—she was chosen because she’s a black woman. And let’s be real, a lot of people supported her for the same reason.
Waters has a known problem with Resting Bitch Face (RBF) as becomes evident throughout the interview.
The irony here is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal. The same people who scream about racism and sexism are out here supporting candidates based on race and gender. It’s like complaining about someone eating junk food while you’re elbow-deep in a bag of chips.
Lichtman tried to claim Trump won because of anti-Semitism, which is hilarious considering Trump was arguably the most pro-Israel president in modern history. He moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, something past presidents only talked about. Even Israeli leaders were like, “Yeah, this guy’s legit.” So, Lichtman’s take? Not so much.
This whole segment was a mess, and it perfectly highlighted the Democratic Party’s identity crisis. While Maxine Waters and Allan Lichtman are busy blaming racism and sexism for their losses, even left-leaning hosts like Chris Cuomo are struggling to keep a straight face.
At the end of the day, Democrats lost because they forgot to talk about things people actually care about—like the economy, crime, and national security. Instead, they’ve been obsessed with identity politics, and voters are over it.
The meltdown from Waters and Lichtman just proves that the Democratic Party hasn’t learned its lesson. And honestly? That’s fine. Because as long as they keep making these mistakes, Trump’s victories will keep rolling in.
