We now have confirmed what we have always known. Drag shows are about grooming kids so they can have sex with them. They were planning a parade as part of PrideFest. But Gov. DeSantis of Florida is expected to sign Senate Bill 1438 into law before the event took place. The bill does not specifically ban children from attending drag shows, but it does state:
“Adult live performances” as “any show, exhibition, or other presentation in front of a live audience, which, in whole or in part, depicts or simulates nudity, sexual conduct, sexual excitement, or specific sexual activities lewd conduct, or the lewd exposure of prosthetic or imitation genitals or breasts.”
If the parade is so important, why would they cancel because the kids could not see drag queens get nasty and expose themselves? They cannot ignore the law or they would subject themselves to prison terms. The first time they expose their genitals and rear end, they would find the results to be a real pain in the butt. (Pun intended)
The organization wrote on its website:
“Many all of you know, the political climate that we are currently in has us all very concerned for our community. After multiple meetings with city officials, it is with a heavy heart that Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast has to announce that this weekend’s Pridefest will now be a 21 and older event. The city has decided that with the on the side caution and require us to make this change. We are obviously upset and dishearten that it has come to this. We also regret to announce that we will have to cancel our plans to bring back our beloved parade.”
“We hope that everyone understands that this definitely not what we wanted at all and are working with the city to assure our safety as well as produce a positive event. We have held off as long as we could making this announcement as we were hoping it would not have to be made. We hope that everyone still supports out community and attends this event! We will be making an announcement in the near future about a family friendly Party in the Park where our youth can celebrate who they are!”

While the proposal wouldn’t inherently bar a Pride parade from happening, Fine said Thursday, those tasked with enforcing the law “would focus on the conduct of the folks in the parade so it will be up to folks to make sure they follow the law.” He hadn’t yet added Yarborough’s amendment to his bill but said he’s “absolutely supportive of the concept.”
Yarborough filed the amendment while the Senate was already in session Tuesday, giving fellow lawmakers little time to read it and understand its implications. While Senate Democrats pushed back on the broader bill, the amendment passed with no questions or debate. The amended bill will soon return to the Senate for a vote, but it had not been scheduled as of Thursday afternoon.
