President Biden announced on Sunday that he will stop his 2024 re-election campaign, citing rising pressure from inside the Democratic Party to end his bid following a terrible debate performance last month.
The unprecedented announcement came as an increasing number of Democratic lawmakers publicly called for Biden’s resignation, and the party’s leadership reportedly was working to persuade Biden, 81, that he couldn’t win the general election in November against former President Trump, the GOP nominee for 2024, whom Biden defeated four years ago to win the presidency.
And Biden promptly pledged his “full support and endorsement” for Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him as the party’s presidential contender.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden’s statement on X stated. “And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

A short while later, Joe’s handlers put out a second tweet saying, “My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”

His messages hailed Vice President Kamala Harris “for being an extraordinary partner in all this work,” but he also openly endorsed her as his successor.
He then put out another tweet asking to donate to Kamala.

What the Democrats will not tell you is that they had to go with Kamala Harris because it is the Biden-Harris ticket, and she has access to the delegates and the money that was raised for the campaign. It’s very difficult legally to transfer delegates and that money to a candidate who’s not inside the ticket.
I just cannot wait for Donald Trump to debate Kamala Harris. The leftist media will claim that Trump lied 50 times while Kamala kicked his ass, but the rest of us will live in Realville, USA where Donald Trump will destroy her because she speaks in rhyme.
