The state of President Joe Biden‘s mental health sparked discussion on Friday morning’s “The Breakfast Club,” with one co-host urging the commander-in-chief be tested for dementia.
The debate began when host Charlamagne tha God and co-host DJ Envy ran off a litany of reasons why they believe Biden is losing his grip on reality and should consider stepping down as a one-term president.
“Don’t y’all think it’s ambitious of Biden to be announcing his future plans?” Charlamagne posed the question to the show’s two leftist guests, former MSNBC anchor Tiffany Cross and former CNN commentator Angela Rye.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Biden would announce his candidacy for a second term in the White House.
DJ Envy, actual name Raashaun Casey, immediately agreed and proposed that Biden be tested for “dementia” before announcing a re-election attempt, which made his co-host laugh.
Cross and Rye both reacted surprised and denied the duo’s inference that Biden is unfit for office.

“I saw him talking to a ghost!” Charlamagne cracks a joke.

“He spoke to a ghost! He spoke to a person that wasn’t there,” DJ Envy concurred.
“This is silly. This is silly. This is silly,” Rye replied.
The radio hosts may have been referring to the September incident in which Biden looked for Representative Jackie Walorski (R-IN) in the crowd at a White House function one month after she was murdered in an automobile accident. The historic remark raised questions about Biden’s mental ability.
DJ Envy offered several more reasons why he feels the president has dementia, including constantly appearing confused and reading cue cards during talks.
“To me, it looks like he has early signs of dementia,” DJ Envy remarked.
Cross and Rye attempted to derail the discussion by stating that Biden’s gaffes are typical of a busy, high-ranking person.
“Well let me ask you think, would you rather have Biden with dementia or Trump with all his issues,” an irritated Cross asked.
“They’re two wings on the same bird,” Charlamagne said dryly.
The group debated briefly more before concluding that any president, regardless of age, should be mentally examined before taking “the highest office in the land.”
