Let’s cut to the chase: ex–FBI boss James Comey is in deep trouble—and he knows it. Sure, he plays Mr. Cool under those studio lights, leaning on the fake-news press to gloss over every mess he makes. In interviews, he plastered on that “I’ve done nothing wrong” grin—but this time he really screwed the pooch. He can’t charm his way out of this one.
It all kicked off when he dropped that bizarre seashell photo on Instagram—an image plenty of folks read as a thinly veiled threat to President Donald Trump. Since then, multiple agencies have reportedly circled in to scrutinize Mr. Comey’s every move. I mean, real, multiple-investigations-level trouble.
Then, just last week, Comey sat down for an interview and said he simply wants to “retreat into private life.” Think about that. This is the same man who churned out a self-serving memoir, hit the national media tour circuit, and practically begged for camera time. “Private life”? Please—he left that dock a long time ago.
Look, I get it. I have my own critics. I talk with friends about my job, and yeah, trolls pop up everywhere—cursing, hurling insults—welcome to the internet. But that’s the gig I signed up for, and I’ve owned it. Comey? He knew exactly what he was getting into. And now, with the heat cranked up, he wants to play victim?
He’s even peddling this wild claim that Donald Trump is the reason he “can’t” exit the spotlight—that somehow the former president is forcing him back into the headlines. Is that the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard?
Let’s not forget just who James Comey is:
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELJames Comey’s decision to leak memos to the press and sidestep FBI rules on handling sensitive material has drawn intense scrutiny, yet he’s never faced formal charges. The Office of Inspector General concluded that he did breach both FBI and Justice Department policies—but stopped short of finding any proof that classified documents were actually leaked. The Department of Justice ultimately chose not to prosecute. Still, many observers view his actions and the resulting inquiries as a textbook case of obstruction of justice, arguing that the memo leak was engineered to sway public opinion and steer the Mueller investigation.
But let’s not forget: Comey also signed three of the four phony FISA warrants—each one a felony—meaning he lied to a FISA court and a federal judge. He relied on the Steele dossier as his “evidence,” even though he’d been explicitly warned not to. Bruce Ohr—the associate deputy attorney general at the time – had convened the team and bluntly told them the dossier was “loaded with garbage” and unfit for any warrant application. When pressed, Ohr explained that his wife, Nellie Ohr, had been hired by Fusion GPS to help write it. Yet Comey cast all caution aside and used the bogus dossier, anyway.
So, Trump is to blame for his non-stop yammering? Trump is the reason he can’t stop talking about… Trump? Here’s the hard truth, James: nobody’s buying it anymore. The Democrats have written you off for what you did in 2016, and the Republicans can’t stand you for everything that’s come since. You’re a man without a country.
At this juncture, the smartest move would be to step back and actually retreat into private life. But let’s get real—it isn’t Trump keeping him center stage. It’s Comey’s own addiction to the cameras, the press, and that fleeting illusion that someone out there still cares.
