On Tuesday, former Fox News primetime personality Tucker Carlson was accused of breaking his contract by his former employer. This happened after Carlson posted a 10-minute monologue on Twitter as the first episode of his new show.
Despite his sudden withdrawal from the air in April, Carlson is still bound by his contractual responsibilities with the network, which run until 2025. This was intentional because the RINO executives now working at Fox wanted to take Carlson out of the equation for the 2024 election season.
Carlson has responded by accusing Fox News of deception and breach of contract as a result of the cancellation of his show. I believe his contract says that he has to do X number of shows per week, and now, thanks to Fox executives caving to Democratic Party tyrants like Senate Majority Leader Chuck You Schumer and the Biden administration, the former host is no longer doing that.
Fox News general counsel Bernard Gugar sent a letter to Carlson’s legal team about a minute after the premiere of the first episode of “Tucker on Twitter,” letting them know the network’s concerns.
“This evening we were made aware of Mr. Tucker Carlson’s appearance on Twitter in a video that lasted over 10 minutes,” Gugar writes in his letter. “Pursuant to the terms of the Agreement, Mr. Carlson’s ‘services shall be completely exclusive to Fox.’”
According to the contract, the former host is also “prohibited from rendering services of any type whatsoever, whether over the internet via streaming or similar distribution, or other digital distribution whether now known or hereafter devised.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELCarlson’s lawyers allegedly argued that any legal action by Fox would be a blatant infringement of their client’s First Amendment rights since the newscaster is seeking to exit a $25 million-a-year deal with the company.
Bryan Freedman, Carlson’s lawyer, accused Fox executives of hypocrisy for silencing Carlson, pointing out how the firm professes to “defend its very existence on freedom of speech grounds.”
WHY I THINK TUCKER WILL BE FINE
“Rendering services” means he is working for another network. What if Tucker isn’t getting paid over at Twitter? That would mean he is simply posting on Twitter like any of the other over 350 million users. That’s not rendering services. That’s exercising his free speech rights.
How ironic that the once dark and evil platform that censored free speech that the Democratic Party did not want being said will be the same platform that will allow Tucker to remain relevant by posting video tweets for the next year while collecting his millions from Fox News. Oh, the delicious irony, indeed.
Here’s the first episode. It’s in the same style and about the length of his world-famous and beloved monologues that made him wildly popular.
Either way you slice it, this does not look good on Fox News.

Carlson addressed the importance of free speech and the usefulness of varied perspectives beyond traditional media channels during his monologue.
“In journalism, curiosity is the gravest crime,” Carlson stated. “As of today, we’ve come to Twitter, which we hope will be the short-wave radio under the blankets. We’re told there are no gatekeepers here. If that turns out to be false, we’ll leave. But in the meantime, we are grateful to be here.”
