During a recent appearance on the All the Smoke podcast, Vice President Kamala Harris once again put her lack of understanding of the legislative process on full display.
This time, she found herself in the familiar scenario of being interviewed by friendly hosts who seemed more interested in throwing softball questions her way than actually challenging her. But even in this comfortable setting, Kamala somehow managed to flub what should have been an easy response. She is a moron’s moron who doesn’t know the details of pretty much anything she claims to believe in. For example, she says she wants to create an “Opportunity Economy,” yet she can’t explain to the American people what that is beyond a flowery-sounding word salad.
One of the hosts asked her to explain how a bill becomes a law. Simple, right? What followed, however, was a train wreck of jumbled thoughts and empty rhetoric. Check out this gem:

Here is Harris’ word salad transcript:
“I believe that the best way the system works is when the power is with the people, to then advocate for their and have their needs met. So that’s the big macro stepping back, right? One of the ways the system works to do that—that the system should work to do that, is we have elected representation who represent the people in these state legislatures, which is where laws get passed. Or in Congress, which is where the federal laws get passed. And for the system to work the right way, legislators, these members of the state legislature, let’s say it’s a state senator, state assemblymember, or your congressman or your United States Senator, will meet with and they’ll have ways of receiving information from the people about what they want. I think it’s really important always that we know our power to organize around what we need, and sometimes that will take the form of writing letters, sometimes it will take the form of mass protests to make sure the voice of the people is heard by their representative leaders who then have as their responsibility to write up some legislation that meets the needs of the people. And then when they write that up, they take a vote in their body, if it’s a statehouse or Congress, and if the majority of the people there agree with it, it becomes a law. So that’s how it’s supposed to work, and I mean it does connect to what we were talking about earlier which is then reminding folks they have a right and a right to expect that their leaders will hear them and take seriously their needs.”
Seriously? That word salad didn’t even address the most fundamental part of the process: the executive branch. She somehow managed to completely forget that a bill only becomes a law after it’s signed by a governor or the President of the United States. She didn’t even mention that part!
What’s even more mind-boggling is that Kamala Harris used to be a United States Senator. A Senator. And now, she’s the vice president. How could she possibly forget such a basic component of the process?
To put it simply, a bill has to pass through both chambers of Congress with a majority vote before it gets sent to the executive branch for final approval. It doesn’t just magically become a law because the legislature “agrees” on it. That’s not how it works.
And yet, Kamala’s sitting there, spouting off nonsense as if she’s enlightening us. It’s almost as if she’s hoping the real answer will pop into her head mid-sentence—spoiler alert: it never does.
But wait, there’s more! This woman is currently the Vice President, and she’s rumored to have ambitions for an even higher office. So, here’s the million-dollar question: Does she even know what office she’s running for?
I am only 5 months older than Kamala, which means we grew up watching the same Saturday morning cartoons, including those “Schoolhouse Rock” episodes about how a bill becomes a law. So, what did she do with her Saturdays? She wasn’t brushing up on civics, that’s for sure.
Honestly, it’s hard to believe she’s even more clueless than I originally believed. But here we are.
