With his heartless suggestion that special needs babies be murdered in the womb so government schools can save money later, a Massachusetts Democrat has been caught expressing the left’s quiet part about abortion out loud.
Michael Hugo, the chair of the Framingham Democratic Committee, is catching a lot of heat for his stunning Nazi-esque idea that the city utilize abortion to save costs in school budgets. Hugo made his dark and evil proposal at a February 7 Framingham city council meeting, where he spoke up in favour of a draft proclamation stating the city’s support for unrestricted access to abortion at any time, for any cause. The proclamation condemned crisis pregnancy centers, where at-risk women are encouraged to choose life, calling them “misleading” and “deceptive,” and accusing them of making “false medical claims.”
Yet, the Democratic committee chair had far more to say than what is contained in the anti-life statement. Hugo advocated for the eugenics-based strategy of eliminating kids who may have impairments after birth in his comments in support of the declaration.
Hugo began his personal proclamation by saying he was “speaking on behalf of the Framingham Democratic Committee,” and that the committee’s responsibility is to “work for the common good by promoting racial, ethnic, social, and economic equality for the people of Framingham,” according to the New York Post.Hugo went on to say that people with disabilities are a financial drain on the system. SEIG HEIL!
“Our fear is that if an unqualified sonographer [at a CPC] misdiagnoses a heart defect, an organ defect, spina bifida or encephalopathic defect, that becomes a very local issue, because our school budget would have to absorb the cost of the child in our special education budget,” Hugo said.
According to the Daily Mail, Hugo had emailed the council the wording of his speech ahead of time. In that written declaration, he inquired if the state would “cover the medical costs for a fetus that had sound medical reason to be terminated.”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELHe further asked whether the state or city council “would cover the costs of special education for a Down syndrome-affected child,” or “pay the extraordinary medical expense of a child with a (serious heart condition),” implying that such children should be aborted before those costs are incurred.
Hugo then inquired, “How much does Framingham’s Public School Department pay for unreimbursed special needs school transportation, specialized education and durable supplies?” according to the Post.
These heinous and insensitive remarks were extensively condemned not only by local residents but also by members of his own anti-life party.
One woman, the mother of a special needs child, believed Hugo was specifically targeting her.
according to Fox News, “I saw what Michael had said as a personal attack against my own children,” Sheryl Goldstein, head of the Framingham Disability Commission, said.
Hugo’s words outraged Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life and mother of two special-needs children, who called his policy recommendation “eugenics,” according to the Post.
“This is discrimination plain and simple,” Hawkins said.
“This is eugenics. This is eugenics in 2023 America. This is an argument that sadly we’ve heard before and throughout American history, just regurgitated using a bunch of fancy lingo or support for abortion,” Hawkins added.
Hugo’s cruel remarks horrified Jon Fetherston, a special needs advocate.
“As a parent of an autistic child, I read those comments and go, ‘What?'” Fetherston said. “A peer of mine thinks that I should’ve aborted my child because he was going to be a burden to a school budget?”
Former Framingham School Committee member Pat Dunne slammed Hugo’s comments during the meeting, stating he had gone “off the rails” with his policy proposal.
“I’m a lifetime member of the Democratic Committee, and the person who wanted to represent us went off the rails on a different direction that was never brought before the Democratic Committee,” Dunne said, according to the Post.
Hugo eventually released an apology letter in which he claimed that the other committee members did not receive the content of his prepared remarks, despite the fact that he emailed it out the night before the meeting. He also acknowledged that his statements had been “offensive and hurtful.”
“I am writing to offer my most sincere and humble apology to members of the Framingham Democratic Committee, but more especially my fellow members of Framingham’s disability family community, for comments that I made at the last City Council meeting which were offensive and hurtful,” Hugo wrote.
I don’t think an apology letter should allow him to retain his seat. It went way too far.
The apology letter didn’t persuade Laura Green, a disability advocate in Framingham.
“I feel that it was generic and lackluster. I feel like after a statement like that is made, you can’t just pretend that it didn’t happen or take it back because it’s damaging to a community of people,” Green noted. “The disability community is the only minority group that you can become a part of at any time.”
Despite rising calls for his resignation, Hugo has stated that he has no plans to leave his position as FDC chairman. He is also the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards’ director of policy and government affairs, according to reports. And consider that in that latter position, he is exactly where he needs to be to advocate for abortions on special needs children.
Hawkins, on the other hand, is absolutely correct. This is nothing less than a modern-day eugenics policy proposal designed to eliminate people Hugo considers “undesirable” the way the Nazis did. We already have a history of this and it resulted in the mass murder of an ever-increasing list of people the government considers undesirable and should be slaughtered for the greater good. Pretty soon, Democrats like Hugo will start talking about exterminating those MAGA Republicans. SEIG HEIL!
Hugo and anyone else who thinks like him needs to go.
