As the Trump administration’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) teams roll into cities to round up criminal illegal aliens for deportation, the reactions from sanctuary cities and states have been nothing short of theatrical. It’s like watching a bad reality TV show—except this one stars Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who’s doing his best impression of a constitutional scholar.
For example, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker did an interview last week with NBC News, where he told the reporter that police officers would not assist ICE because state law says they cannot. He said that state law says they cannot, and he warned that they would be breaking the law if they helped ICE in any way.

Now, I have to say, I respectfully disagree with the governor here. Let’s break this down, shall we? Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution lays out something called the Enumerated Powers—basically, a list of 18 things the federal government is allowed to do. Everything else outside of the amendments.? That’s supposed to be left to the states or the people, as the Bill of Rights so politely reminds us. Sorry, JB.
The Trump administration is going by the FAFO rule, if you know what I mean. If a state FA, they will FO. Sanctuary cities and states are unconstitutional because the Constitution says only the federal government has authority.
Of those Enumerated Powers, one explicitly gives Congress the authority “to establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization.” Translation? Immigration law falls squarely under federal jurisdiction. Even the Obama administration understood this when they sued Arizona for trying to pass a law allowing state police to detain illegal aliens and hand them over to federal authorities. The argument back then? Arizona doesn’t have jurisdiction over immigration. So, if states like Arizona couldn’t play sheriff in immigration matters, how do sanctuary states like Illinois think they get to play gatekeeper?
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELPritzker went on to say that he fully supports going after violent criminal illegal aliens and turning them over to ICE. And I say he’s a bald-faced liar because he hasn’t been doing that all along. You don’t get to include yourself in the win for American citizens by attaching yourself to ICE taking out your crazy violent illegals. JB, you welcomed them. You released them from your jails. Who do you think you’re kidding?
It’s one thing to claim the officers won’t assist, but it is entirely another to stop ICE agents from accessing criminal illegals who are in their jails. That is obstruction of federal agents.
It’s going to be fun to watch how this unfolds. Tom Homan, Trump’s Border Czar, isn’t messing around—ICE has been hauling in criminal illegal aliens by the hundreds. And as these sanctuary cities and states keep testing their luck, let’s just say the FAFO rule might come into play sooner than they think.
