Representative Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), has called for Staten Island to secede from the rest of New York City in protest of Democrat Mayor Eric Adams‘ handling of the migrant problem. Or is it his mishandling?
“What we’re simply asking is for common sense. We want the mayor to end this. Stop doing what you’re doing and listen. Secure the damn border. We do not have a border. We do not have a nation,” Malliotakis said during a demonstration at the borough’s former Catholic school turned migrant shelter.
Eric Adams could have ended it when it began. That was the hope of Texas Governor Greg Abbott when he started shipping illegals that were overwhelming his border towns with tens of thousands of illegal migrants that the Biden administration not only let into the country but actually enticed them to come. When word gets out that when you come here illegally, you get a place to stay, food to eat, a free Biden phone, and a goodies bag filled with things, all courtesy of the American taxpayer who doesn’t want them here, it’s like a beacon to people who live in third-world sh*t holes to come here and take advantage of our system and laws.
Instead of telling the administration “No,” to its open border policies that are destroying American cities, he went along with it like a Borg in the collective.
“If you’re not going to do your job, Mayor, then let Staten Island secede.”
Hundreds of people cheered and applauded when the call was made. Staten Island dominates Malliotakis’ district, which also contains parts of Brooklyn. Despite New York City’s blue stronghold status, the district voted overwhelmingly for former President Donald Trump in 2020.

Malliotakis’ office told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that the demonstration was not coordinated by her or her team. Her office also stated that the campaign to separate Staten Island from the other four boroughs has been going on for decades.
The two-term Republican legislator has led Republican opposition to New York City officials’ handling of the escalating migrant problem.
She talked with Fox News Digital earlier this month after three individuals were jailed protesting plans to convert a nursing home into an overflow refuge for undocumented migrants. She demanded that the demonstrators be released, comparing their treatment to how she anticipated Black Lives Matter protesters would be treated in 2020.
“Arrests were made at the direction of the mayor, obviously. And it’s frustrating because, you know, the summer of 2020, we had rioters who assaulted police officers, who looted, who created all sorts of disruption, and all their charges were dropped. So, I’m calling for equal treatment,” Malliotakis stated at the time.
Officials from both parties in New York have frequently urged the federal government to give more assistance as more migrants arrive in the city, many of whom are sleeping on the streets.
But the Biden administration responded Monday with a pair of letters from the criminally negligent Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to Adams and the incompetent New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
Mayorkas defended Biden authorities’ reaction and shot off a litany of “structural issues” the state has in managing the situation in the letters, which were obtained by numerous news agencies.
