On MSNBC‘s “Braindead” er… I mean “Deadline” on Friday, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten claimed that people are “getting really angry” about Governor Ron DeSantis‘s (R-FL) education policy. Weingarten demonstrated through the COVID plandemic that she cares more about the employment of adults than the education of our children.
DeSantis has declared he is running in 2024, and that terrifies the Left, so let the gaslighting begin.
“I want to come back to the other policy which is I think the most unpopular of all in sort of this new mom’s group and the polling that’s out is the book bans.” anchor Nicolle Wallace said. Do you see what I mean about braindead? #smh
“Two things are unpopular, the book bans, and also why you would get rid of social-emotional learning when we have a mental health crisis?” Weingarten added. “We have to make sure that kids feel okay.” Why not teach math, reading, and science instead?
First, there are no book bans in Florida. Any pervert/racist can still purchase any of the books that are not allowed in schools. A book ban means no one can buy it or read it. That is simply not the case in Florida schools. What the Florida state legislature did was act on what Floridian parents asked them to do, so they do not allow books in schools that promote racism like critical race theory or gender ideology. In other words, if a parent, for some odd reason, wants their child to read one of the books not allowed in schools, they can buy the book at a bookstore and give it to their child at home. The schools just won’t promote such garbage.
“If it wasn’t so serious,” she said, ” it would be laughable. But the book bans, what’s happening is that parents are saying, and Michael got it right that 11 parents in Florida had been responsible for 60% of the book bans. And it was only when the Amanda Gorman ban — and that person didn’t even read it and had ‘Elders of Zion’ on her Facebook page. So the craziness here is people are starting to feel the depravation and they’re getting really angry. Just like on Dobbs, there’s a sense you’re taking something away from my child because of what you’re doing. This why are you doing this? Why are you taking this away from my child? Why don’t you let my child and her teacher decide what is right? And the other thing I’ll say is there are processes to figure out curriculum. We don’t get it right all the time. But we use those processes that the school boards have. That’s why we have school boards that are voted on by parents.” Because many teachers are grooming children inside the classroom, and parents want to protect them from such wickedness.
