Remember when “the Resistance” actually meant something? Like brave young French partisans during WWII taking on German Nazis? Well, those days are long gone. Now, the so-called “Resistance” looks more like a bunch of old bureaucrats in pastel-colored power suits, clutching their little protest signs and giving themselves standing ovations for being “on the right side of history.”
Take Trump’s speech to Congress on Tuesday night. The Guardian, ever the drama queen of leftist media, breathlessly reported that “the Resistance was stirring.” Stirring? More like mumbling into their wine spritzers. Their big moment of defiance? A carefully staged shot of a congresswoman in pearls and some balding Democrat guy looking like he’d just seen a ghost. Inspirational. I’m sure the world’s dictators were quaking in their boots.
This so-called “fightback” against Trump’s rhetoric was, to put it mildly, embarrassing. Trump gave a 100-minute speech—the longest in 60 years—tearing into Biden’s failures and praising Musk. That was too much for the Democrats to handle. Rashida Tlaib, in a fit of raw political courage, whipped out a crumpled sign that read, “That’s a lie!” Meanwhile, the internet did what the internet does, mercilessly roasting the stunt. The best meme? Someone changing Tlaib’s sign to say, “I’m the reason Muslim men prefer goats.” Hey, I didn’t write it.
And then there was Rep. Al Green, who went full Les Misérables, waving his cane and bellowing, “You have no mandate!” If the president was paralyzed with fear, he sure didn’t show it.
If you believed the media spin, you’d think this was The Boston Tea Party. The Guardian even assured us that these acts of rebellion had “given hope to the Resistance” and sent a message to the world.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThe Democrats used to be messaging masters, but now I’m starting to think wokeism is their kryptonite.
Even the progressive crowd, usually quick to dismiss establishment Democrats, got swept up in the theatrics. Vox, doing its best to sell this charade as meaningful, optimistically declared that the “Resistance” was finally “getting better.” Getting better at what, exactly? Performance art? Because that’s all this was—cheap theatrics designed for viral social media clips.
The best part? The costume change. According to The Hill, some of these lawmakers—adults, mind you—peeled off their professional attire mid-speech to reveal black t-shirts emblazoned with “RESIST” in big, bold letters. Oh, the courage!
This wasn’t a protest. It was a self-indulgent Broadway play, starring the most self-important people in Washington. Just ask them and they’ll tell you. There they sat, glowing with smug satisfaction, wagging their fingers at Musk and Trump, convinced they were striking some historic blow against oppression. The Guardian praised them for showing “what they are against,” but then awkwardly admitted they still needed to show “what they are for.” I can answer that: more power for themselves. This wasn’t about principles. It was about optics.
And let’s talk about the sheer hypocrisy. Some of these women showed up in pink suits, supposedly as a symbol of their outrage over Trump’s “sexist” policies. Touching. Except these are the same Democrats who, just the day before, killed a Republican bill that would have stopped biological men—sorry, “trans women”—from dominating women’s sports. So on Monday, they torpedoed a bill that would’ve protected female athletes. On Tuesday, they strutted into Congress in pastel-colored power suits and demanded applause as feminist warriors. You can’t make this up. At this rate, Trump is looking like Betty Friedan reincarnated compared to these woke wreckers of women’s rights.

This right here—this embarrassing spectacle—is exactly why normal people are done with the ruling class’s performative nonsense. They gut protections for women one day by allowing biological men to play in women’s sports, then lecture us all on feminism the next. They scream about “threats to democracy” while openly silencing any form of dissent. And when they’re called out on their contradictions, they just scream “misinformation” and call it a day.
But here’s the truth: “The Resistance” was never about challenging power—it was the power. It was the elite class throwing a tantrum because, for once, they weren’t the ones calling the shots. The second Stylist magazine declared Hillary Clinton part of “the Resistance” eight years ago, we should’ve known this whole thing was a joke.
And now, with this latest cringe-inducing display in Congress, we may be witnessing the dying breaths of the “Resistance.” These people aren’t revolutionaries. They’re out-of-touch career politicians cosplaying as activists for a few retweets. The real rebels in this country? The millions of working-class voters who rejected the status quo and demanded something different. Not these pampered elites playing dress-up.
So, can we please have the word “resistance” back now? It used to mean something. Let’s not let a bunch of political cosplayers hijack it for their latest narcissistic performance.
All of this is just the latest indication that the Democratic Party is living in its final days.
