On Thursday, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump both attended events in New York City, but they were very different.
Biden was in town for a Democratic fundraising event, while Trump was attending a wake for New York City Police Officer Jonathan Diller at a funeral home in Massapequa Park, Long Island, about 40 miles from Manhattan. That’s a 10 to 15 minute helicopter flight.
Biden was scheduled to attend a glamorous Democratic fundraiser dinner at Radio Music Hall, alongside former presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and A-list celebrities.
During a presser on Air Force One while heading to New York, White House mouthpiece Karine Jean-Pierre did not comment on Biden’s absence from the wake, but did express the president’s condolences, saying he “grieves for them (the NYPD) and honors their sacrifice.” How lovely of him, eh?
“The President has stood with law enforcement his entire career and continues to stand with them as they put their lives on the line for their communities,” she was quoted as saying. “Under his leadership, we will continue to support police officers and ensure that they have resources they need to continue to do the work, the all-important that, work that they have to do on behalf of the community.”
But they won’t attend a funeral when they are a hop, skip, and jump away. Especially when A-Listers are waiting.

Meanwhile, Trump visited Diller’s wake, when a large number of law enforcement officers gathered to pay their respects.
“Such a sad, sad event. Such a horrible thing. And it’s happening all too often, and we’re just not going to let it happen,” Trump said. “We need law and order.”
Jean-Pierre stated that violent crime increased under Trump, whereas the Biden administration took “decisive action from the very beginning to fund the police, achieving a historic reduction in crime under his leadership. And so, we’re going to continue to do that.”
Nothing that woman says is based in truth. The Biden administration has not prosecuted a single rioter during the St. George Floyd Summer of Love events. They have people imprisoned for years over misdemeanors from the January 6 protest, but real criminals have nothing to worry about.
The Biden DOJ doesn’t even go after real criminals anymore. They go after political enemies of Joe. These people are disgusting.
Diller, 31, was killed Monday during a normal traffic stop in Far Rockaway, Queens. He was the father of a one-year-old boy. Guy Rivera, 34, is accused of opening fire and killing Diller. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said that both the driver of the car and Rivera, who was riding in the passenger seat, had been arrested at least 20 times before.
The NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) requested that far-left Democratic politicians in New York City not attend the burial due to their soft-on-crime views. Good for them.
“I’m sure that many elected officials will attend PO Diller’s funeral, shed a few crocodile tears, and prominently seat themselves for a good photo opportunity,” SBA President Vincent Vallelong said in a letter to union members. “The sad reality is we don’t want them there.”
