Hey folks, guess what popped up on April 30? A fresh national poll from Emerson College showing that Trump’s 2024 fan club is…well, still his fan club. In fact, 94% of people who voted for him last time said they’d do it all over again—because why rock the boat when you’re already floating? Meanwhile, a solid 93% of Kamala Harris voters wouldn’t dream of switching teams either.
Now, if you’re into fantasy matchups, this poll gives Trump a razor-thin 48% to Harris’s 47%—which is basically as close as my attempts at dieting versus pizza. Media narratives about buyer’s remorse? Looks like someone forgot to read the fine print.

Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, put it bluntly: “Despite several unpopular domestic and foreign policies, President Trump still holds an entrenched base of voters who, if given the chance, say they would vote for him again,” and honestly, that sums it up.
On the job-approval front, Trump sits at 45% approval, 45% disapproval, and a neutral 10%—like those people who watch reality TV but refuse to admit it. The electorate is split down the middle with barely any wiggle room since November 2024.
Money talk time: 49% of respondents think his economic policies are making things worse, 29% see improvements, and the rest are too busy checking their bank accounts to care. Only 37% give him a thumbs-up on the economy, while 49% give the thumbs-down. Not exactly a victory lap.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELWhen it comes to rating his second term overall, 52% call it “more of a failure,” while 48% say it’s a success. Surprise, surprise—party loyalty still rules the day: 86% of Republicans call it a win, 88% of Democrats slam it as a flop, and independents lean slightly negative, 55% to 45%.
Despite all that chatter about policy missteps, Trump’s die-hards aren’t backing off: only 7% of his 2024 supporters admit to any regret. That’s loyalty levels rivaling your favorite streaming series (even when it takes a weird turn in season 3).

The poll even ran the numbers on some of Trump’s key players:
-
-
Vice President J.D. Vance checks in at 39% favorable versus 43% unfavorable.
-
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ekes out just 33% approval, while 39% aren’t impressed.
-
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is essentially neck-and-neck at 41% favorable to 40% unfavorable.
-
And the much-buzzed-about Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Elon Musk? 47% disapprove of his performance, while 41% give him their blessing.
-
So what’s Trump been up to? In his first 100 days, he’s slapped back border enforcement with the “Remain in Mexico” program, ramped up deportations by executive order, and even restarted wall construction. On the home front, he’s rolled back Biden-era environmental rules, green-lit more drilling to (supposedly) cut energy costs, and reimposed tariffs on Chinese and European goods—manufacturing, assemble yourselves! He also signed an order banning Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in federal agencies and launched a review of military training. Abroad, he hit pause on foreign aid to several countries and kicked off new talks in Eastern Europe.
The takeaway? Even with split approval on various policies, Trump’s core crew isn’t budging. As the political circus keeps rolling, these numbers show that buyer’s remorse isn’t exactly breaking the bank for his supporters.
