If you’ve been paying attention for even five minutes, you’ve probably noticed a pattern: Trump does something, the Left collectively loses its mind, and then—like clockwork—we find out that Obama or Biden did the exact same thing, but no one batted an eye.
Take this weekend, for example. Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, a top Navy admiral, and a few other people. Naturally, the Left freaked out.
But here’s a fun history lesson: Barack Obama fired 197 military officers to reshape the military in his own image a Commander-in-Chief, stacking it with a load of Yes Men who would do his bidding. That’s how we ended up with people like Mark Milley, who in 2015 Barak Obama promoted to Chief of Staff of the Army. Trump fires two guys, and suddenly it’s a national emergency.
This isn’t new. It’s the same cycle, over and over.
Remember “Kids in Cages?”
During Trump’s first term, the media bombarded us with heart-wrenching images of illegal immigrant children sleeping on floors in chain-link enclosures, wrapped in those tinfoil-looking blankets. The outrage was deafening. How could Trump be so cruel?
Except—whoops!—those photos were from 2014, during the Obama administration. The same media that had suddenly rediscovered its moral compass was curiously silent back then. The Democrats: It’s okay when we do it.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELAnd then there was AOC, who staged a dramatic, all-white-clad photo-op outside a juvenile detention center, looking devastated. Turns out, there was nobody on the other side of the fence. She faked the whole thing. But hey, anything for the narrative, right?
The truth about kids in cages is that a federal judge ordered that children of illegal migrants could not reside in the same detention cells as their parents because there were other adults in the cells that the parents do not know and who could become violent at any time, putting the children at risk of harm. The George W Bush administration was the first to enforce ruling.
“Trump’s Breaking the Norms!”
The Left’s favorite line these days is that Trump is violating norms—like Biden leaving the border wide open and allowing, by some estimates, up to 20 million illegal aliens to flood into the country isn’t a norm-breaker.
And then we have their other go-to argument: “Trump is violating the Constitution!” The moment Trump does something they dislike, they declare it illegal—never mind whether it actually is. It’s almost as if they’ve never read the Constitution, or worse, they just don’t understand it.
And let’s be honest: the Left only brings up the Constitution when they think it can be used as a weapon to get what they want. Otherwise, they see it as a “living, breathing document” that can mean whatever they feel like that day.
Here’s an idea: I’m hosting a poker game on Saturday night. I’ll be in charge of the rules. They’ll be “living, breathing rules.” Bring lots of money.
When Obama Withheld Funds, It Was “Leadership”—But When Trump Does It? “Criminal!”
One of the Left’s biggest meltdowns happened when Trump shut down USAID. Apparently, cutting off taxpayer dollars to questionable foreign aid projects was just too much for them to handle.
Now, Trump is talking about withholding federal funds from public schools unless they enact certain reforms, and, predictably, the Left is screaming that this is “unprecedented” and “criminal.”
Except, wait a minute—Obama did this all the time.
Ever heard of Obama’s “Dear Colleague Letters”? Obama’s Department of Education sent these out to schools, threatening to cut off federal funding unless they complied with his administration’s ideological demands.

2011: The first Dear Colleague letter focused on college sexual assault cases. Obama and Biden’s It’s On Us campaign forced universities to lower the burden of proof for sexual assault cases from “beyond a reasonable doubt” to a mere “preponderance of evidence.” Translation? They eliminated due process protections, allowing young men to be expelled from college without even knowing what they were accused of.

2014: The next Dear Colleague letter tackled “disparate impact” in public school discipline. It declared that if more black students were suspended than white students—even if they were breaking the same rules—then the policy itself was racist by definition. So, instead of disciplining students based on behavior, schools had to adjust discipline based on racial quotas. Makes sense, right? The letter stipulated that even if there is no racial component to the school’s disciplinary rules, if more black students punch a teacher than white students, there is a disparate impact that makes the rule automatically racist. It was the most insane thing America ever heard of, and the media remained silent and/or supportive of the Obama administration.
This kind of absurdity didn’t just stay in schools. In San Francisco, they realized that more black people were getting arrested for jumping subway turnstiles, so instead of enforcing the law equally, they eliminated the law. Because, apparently, enforcing laws is now racist.
- 2016: Another Dear Colleague letter introduced radical gender ideology into schools. It forced schools to comply with the Left’s transgender agenda or risk losing federal funding. That’s right—Obama used federal dollars to push leftist policies into every classroom in America. This included transgender girls allowed in girl’s locker rooms and bathrooms.
Of course, the media had no problem with any of this at the time. But when Trump uses the exact same mechanism to say “If you’re a boy, you can’t compete in girls’ sports”, the Left loses its mind.
“This Is the End of All Norms!”
On Friday, Maine’s governor announced she wouldn’t comply with Trump’s order protecting girls’ sports. That same night, the Trump DOJ announced they’d be opening a Title IX investigation into Maine.
Cue the hysteria: This is unprecedented! This is the end of all norms!
Really? Since when were boys competing in girls’ sports a “norm”?
Using Federal Funds as Leverage—Something EVERY President Has Done
Trump isn’t the first president to use federal funding as leverage. It’s been done for decades.
- Reagan pushed states to raise the drinking age to 21 by threatening to withhold highway funds.
- Nixon did the same thing to lower the speed limit to 55.
- Ford pushed for motorcycle helmet laws using highway trust funds as a bargaining chip.
- Chuck Schumer, in 2009, threatened to cut off highway funds if states didn’t ban texting while driving.
Even The Atlantic admitted in 2014 that Congress uses highway trust funds to “circumvent the Constitution” and force states to comply.
So why is Trump the only president who gets crucified for using this tactic? Oh, that’s right—because his policies actually make sense and the Left can’t stand it.
Impoundment: Suddenly “Illegal” When Trump Does It
And let’s not forget impoundment, a power that presidents have used since Thomas Jefferson in 1801. Now, the Left is acting like it’s some radical, unconstitutional act.
Impoundment is when Congress appropriates funds for a bill and gives it to the president to implement the bill, they don’t give the president a floor for the spending, they give him a ceiling. In other words, they say we’ve given you this much to accomplish what is in this bill, and you can’t spend any more than that. But impoundment is when a president will say either we’re not going to do that and therefore we’re not going to spend that money, or a president could say you appropriated $20 million but we only needed 10 million so we’re going to impound the other 10 million. Trump does it, and all hell breaks loose in the Leftward Land of Silliness.
The reality? Trump is doing what every sane person in America wants: protecting women’s sports, enforcing immigration laws, and demanding accountability from public schools. But because the Left has a terminal case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) Level 11, they pretend this is all unprecedented and criminal.
Meanwhile, we all know the truth: If Trump had a (D) next to his name, the media would be calling him a visionary figure.
