FBI analyst Brian Auten testified in the trial of Igor Danchenko, who was the PSS (Primary Sub-Source) for the Steele dossier. Auten testified that a group of FBI officials met with Christopher Steele in 2021 and they offered him $1 million dollars if he could verify the stories he was feeding them.
Of course, he couldn’t because they were all lies. But, that did not stop the FBI from getting FISA warrants in order for them to be able to spy on Trump.

Those warrant applications were signed by James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and several others. No one has been held accountable and don’t you believe for a second that they ever will be, because they won’t, because they aren’t conservatives.
That means that the FBI applied for FISA warrants five years before they asked Steele to verify the dossier. This was a coup attempt by the FBI. I wonder if there is a statute of limitations on treason. If not, perhaps in the future some brave prosecutor could bring charges against the FBI officials involved in the attempted coup. But, I seriously doubt it. But, this was an attempt to overthrow the government, unlike the accusations that J6 political prisoners did the same.
Durham asked Auten, if there was proof of the accuracy of the Steele dossier referencing the date the first FISA application to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page was filed:
“On October 21, 2016, did you have any information to corroborate that information?”

Auten testified that the FBI offered Steele “up to $1 million” for proof substantiating allegations made in a series of reports to the bureau over the course of several months in 2016. The analyst said Steele never received any money because he could not “prove the allegations,” according to CNN. Steel’s reports were eventually compiled into the dossier first published by BuzzFeed News in January 2017.
In July of this year, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said that according to FBI whistleblowers, Auten was involved in suppressing an investigation into Hunter Biden during President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign.
“[I]n August 2020, FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten opened an assessment which was used by a FBI Headquarters … team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease. Based on allegations, verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation,” Grassley wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.
Durham is prosecuting Igor Danchenko for allegedly lying to the FBI on five different occasions. Danchenko has pleaded not guilty. The trial has just started and could last for over a week, depending on how many witnesses each side calls. Danchenko has already admitted that some of the stories he fed Steele were totally baseless. The Trump pee pee story was a product of a group who were drinking and speculating according to him.
There has been no word on whether there are any more prosecutions in the pipeline, but it is possible that Durham is trying to convict Danchenko and then could offer him a deal if he comes clean about the operation and who was involved.
