Sweden’s Prosecution Authority is bringing charges against Greta Thunberg for refusing to obey police orders during a climate protest from this past June. Greta, you disobeyed the police?

The charges involve disrupting traffic during the recent protest.
According to CNN
“The prosecutor has filed charges against a young woman who, on June 19 this year, participated in a climate demonstration which, according to the prosecution, caused disruption to traffic in Malmö,” the statement said. The woman “refused to obey the police command to leave the scene.”
A spokesperson for the Swedish Prosecution Authority, Annika Collin, confirmed that the plaintiff is Greta Thunberg even though the indictment did not mention her by name.

Irma Kjellström, a spokesperson for Ta Tillbaka Framtiden, told CNN that Thunberg was one of the people who helped block the oil tankers in Sweden.

Recently, Greta Thunberg was back in the news after her prediction that the world would end in 2023 was a conspiracy. On June 21, 2018, she made a bold claim on Twitter, stating that humanity had a narrow five-year window to stop the use of fossil fuels or face inevitable extinction.
“A top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.”
Thunberg shared a now-deleted Grit Post article by Scott Alden citing a prediction from James Anderson, a professor of atmospheric chemistry at Harvard University, titled, “Top Climate Scientist: Humans Will Go Extinct if We Don’t Fix Climate Change by 2023.”
Ms Thunberg is to face trial on July 24, local newspaper Sydsvenskan said on Wednesday, alongside three other activists.
Her charge could result in a maximum six-month prison sentence or a fine, but prosecutor Charlotte Ottosen told the paper the latter is usually more typical for a charge of disobedience.
A police official also told the paper that some 30 trucks were blocked from driving through the port because of activists sitting on the road.
Of the 20 involved, four, including Ms Thunberg, refused to move from the road when ordered to, resulting in their forced removal.
Ms Thunberg’s team have not responded to a request for comment.
It comes amid a wider growing effort among activist groups across the world to demonstrate against climate change.
