So here’s something nobody in the mainstream press really wants to talk about. Stuart Varney on Fox Business said out loud what a lot of people have been quietly noticing for years. Americans are leaving. Not the country. Each other. Specifically, they’re leaving states run by Democrats, and they’re heading somewhere with lower taxes and fewer people telling them what to do with their money.
Varney pulled from projections by economists Art Laffer and Stephen Moore, and what they’re describing isn’t some trickle. It’s a flood.
“Let the Exodus begin,” Varney said. “Oh, actually, it started already.”
Think about what that means for a second. This isn’t a future prediction. It’s already happening. People have already done the math and decided to go.
Varney called it exactly what it is.
“We’re talking about mass migration within the United States from one group of states to another,” Varney said. “This is America, and we move. But you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

“Consider this, in each of the next three years, 800,000 people will leave California and New York,” Varney said. “That’s 800,000 a year.”
And it’s not just the coasts, either.
“Another 500,000 will leave Connecticut, New Jersey and Minnesota,” Varney said.
Why is this happening? Varney didn’t dance around the answer. It’s taxes. Plain and simple.
“These numbers are from economists Art Laffer and Stephen Moore,” Varney said. “Quote, millions of people, 1000s of businesses and 10s of billions of net income will flee high tax, blue states for low tax red states.”
Now here’s where it gets really interesting. If you’re a high earner living in a blue state right now, the people running your state government may be about to make your situation considerably worse.
“As we’ve said many times, you make good money in a high-tax Democrat state, and this new tax law will kill you financially,” Varney said.
That’s not hyperbole. That’s math. And when the math stops working in your favor, you leave.
“That’s the important point,” Varney said. “People and money and jobs moving out of Democrat states and moving to Republican states, taxes are what’s doing this.”
Meanwhile, the states on the receiving end of all this? They’re about to do very well.
“This is terrible news for blue states,” Varney said. “It is a bonanza for low-tax Texas, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, Tennessee, Utah, and others.”
Varney spelled out what that bonanza actually looks like in practice.
“Imagine what this migration actually means,” Varney said. “Strong demand for real estate of all kinds in low tax areas, people with money will be flooding in more jobs and business openings, stronger state revenues.”
And because of all those stronger revenues, something remarkable could happen.
“They may even be able to cut taxes,” Varney said. “Imagine that.”
For the states losing people, the picture is much grimmer.
“But for the high tax states, it is a disaster,” Varney said.
Varney asked a question that every ambitious professional relocating for a job opportunity should genuinely be asking themselves right now.
“Would you move to, say, New York, to take a new job?” Varney asked. “If you’ll get hit with a tax hike? You will think twice.”
Of course, there’s a certain kind of politician who looks at all of this and concludes the solution is to tax wealthy residents even harder. Laffer and Moore have something to say about that crowd.
“I’ll conclude the way Laffer and more end their article quote delusional liberal interest groups want blue states to respond by soaking their rich residents even more,” Varney said.
Their advice for anyone still living under those policies?
“If that happens, our best advice to blue state residents is simple: Get while the getting is good,” Varney added. “Translation: Leave now.”
The writing has been on the wall for a while. Varney summed it up plainly.
“For years we’ve been seeing migration,” Varney said. “Now get ready for mass migration.”
