Biden told then-President Donald Trump in a 2020 debate:
“My son has not made money in terms of this thing about, what are you talking about, China.”
“The only guy who made money from China is this guy. The only one.”
“Nobody else has made money from China.”
Joe Biden said during the second debate that Hunter had never made money in China and that the NY Post story was Russian disinformation.

Hunter Biden appeared in court hoping to collect the sweetheart deal Papa Joe and Merrick Garland cut out for him. He was the most disappointed man since George Armstrong Custer. Not only did he not get his deal, he was called out for FARA violations and he lost his immunity from further prosecution. But, under oath, Hunter admitted that he made millions from China. He also admitted to making money in Ukraine and Romania.
He claimed he made it in 2017 alone. Just under $1 million from a company he formed with the CEO of a Chinese business conglomerate; $666,666 from his domestic business interests; approximately $664,000 from a Chinese infrastructure investment company; $500,000 in director’s fees from a Ukrainian energy company; $70,000 relating to a Romanian business; and $48,000 from the multi-national law firm.
Judge Maryellen Noreika asked Hunter Biden:
“The fourth paragraph says during the calendar year 2017, you earned substantial income including just under a million dollars from a company you formed with a CEO of a Chinese business conglomerate. Is that the same or a different Chinese company from the one you referenced earlier?”
Hunter answered:
“I started a company called Hudson West, Your Honor, and my partner was associated with a Chinese energy company called CEFC.”
“Who was your partner?” Noreika asked in a follow up.
“I don’t know how to spell his name, Yi Jianming, is the chairman of that company,” Hunter Biden said.
“$664,000 from a Chinese infrastructure investment company. Is that one of the companies we’ve already talked about?” the judge then asked.
“I believe so, yes, Your Honor,” Hunter Biden said.
“Which one is that?” she pressed.
“I believe CEFC,” the younger Biden responded.
Hunter Biden admitted to a federal judge Wednesday that he received over $600,000 from a Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-backed company, contradicting President Biden’s insistence that nobody from his family “made money from China.”
Hunter made his first appearance in a Delaware federal court Wednesday, pleading not guilty after Judge Maryellen Noreika rejected his plea deal that was criticized by Republicans as too lenient.
Prosecutors said in their proposed plea agreement with Hunter that he received $664,000 from a “Chinese infrastructure investment company,” according to the official court transcript.
