This is like deja vu all over again. Mitch McConnell was asked by a reporter in his home state of Kentucky if he planned to seek reelection, and he simply froze.
WATCH:
When his aide stepped in to help, she asked him if he heard the question and he said yes, but then he continued to stare off into Never Never Land.
Now, I’m no doctor, but this is the second time this has happened, and the man appears to be suffering from a seizure. And it happened at the worst possible time after he was asked if he wanted to run for another 6 years in the US Senate.
The first time he froze up like this was back on July 26 during a press conference in the U.S. Capitol, when he stopped speaking mid-sentence, and was unable to continue for about a quarter of a minute. That was 35 days between both instances.
Now I’m sure that there will be Democrats calling for McConnell to retire his seat and they will be the same Democrats who scoffed at calls for Senator John Fetterman who suffered brain damage when he had a stroke last year and cannot understand anything that anyone says to him. He can’t make an intelligent argument without the listener having to cut him a break. But that’s DC politics, I guess.

I sincerely hope that the Republican Party in DC doesn’t follow the path of the power-hungry Jacobins in the Democratic Party who pushed Fetterman into campaigning even though he was told he should take it easy and work on rehabilitating himself only to make himself permanently disabled. I hope the GOP Senate does not continue to push for McConnell to run again.
