New Jersey Democrat Senator Bob Menendez, who was indicted on bribery allegations on Friday, reacted angrily, claiming that prosecutors want him imprisoned because he is “a first-generation Latino American from humble beginnings.” Oh, please.
Menendez said in a combative statement issued following his indictment that “forces behind the scenes have repeatedly attempt to silence my voice and dig my political grave.”
He then accused the prosecutors who convicted him of “excesses” that “misrepresented the normal work of a Congressional office.”
Menendez then claimed that these unidentified “powers” were attempting to get him because of his ethnic background.
“Those behind this campaign simply cannot accept that a first-generation Latino American from humble beginnings could rise to be a U.S. Senator,” he stated. “Even worse, they see me as an obstacle in the way of their broader political goals.”

So, the senator from New Jersey is saying that the US Attorney, Damian Williams, a Democrat appointed by President Joe Biden, Chairman of the Biden Crime Family, has indicted him because he is a Latino American who came from “humble beginnings?” That sounds like what you would expect from someone who isn’t bright enough to come up with a more reasonable – nay – intelligent explanation for why they have been indicted.
Let’s get real, shall we?
According to NBC News, citing a copy of the petition obtained:
“Menendez received cash, gold bars, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low- or no-show job, a luxury vehicle and other items of value.”
That does not sound like the normal work of a Congressional office.
The beauty of this is that the lying, corrupt, disgusting Democratic Party can not blame any of this on Republicans. Democrats always project what they are doing onto Republicans, but in this case, it’s pretty much impossible to do so.
People who throw out accusations of racism without sufficient evidence are a piece of garbage.
Former President Donald Trump’s response to being indicted has often included attacks on prosecutors and unspecified dark powers, as the former president has long claimed that the criminal proceedings against him are part of an “election interference” conspiracy.
Senate rules require Menendez to quit as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, but no Democratic senators have publicly asked for his resignation. And they won’t because Democrats never apply the rules to themselves.
Williams announced the charges at a news conference on Friday, noting that Menendez’s Senate website states he can’t compel an agency to act in someone’s favor, influence matters involving a private business, or get involved in criminal matters, “but we allege that behind the scenes, Senator Menendez was doing those things for certain people — the people who were bribing him and his wife,” he said.
WATCH:
The senator and his co-defendants are scheduled to appear in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in lower Manhattan at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday and will be arraigned later that day.
