A panelist at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Davos meeting on Thursday proposed developing “exclusion lists” to demonetize sources that spread so-called “disinformation,” The Daily Caller reported.
Haven’t we had enough of this misinformation and disinformation nonsense? They should call it what it is: censorship that the government wants done by the private sector because they can’t do it themselves. I want to know what these creeps at Davos are getting for their dark deeds.
During a Davos conference panel titled “Defending Truth,” (there’s a joke), Jeanne Bourgault, president and CEO of Internews, an international NGO that gives “support” to independent media outlets in over 100 countries, spoke about how to prevent the spread of what she considers false information. Where were they when the CDC and Dr. Fauci were spreading disinformation about the COVID vaccines, masks, and social distancing?
“Global trust in institutions is eroding, reflected in how 40% of people consistently trust news. Empowering internet users with media information literacy, advancing information integrity and enhancing transparency are vital for addressing the spread of false information,” according to the WEF’s description of the Thursday session.
Global trust in institutions is eroding because of the people who sit on the panels at Davos and come up with authoritarian proposals that can be argued away
Nobody elected these people. How do they get to create rules and laws that will harm people who don’t go along with their demands?
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELWhat these evil SOBs call transparency are the lies they tell on behalf of globalist governments. They censor information they disagree with politically and then gaslight you with their version of transparency, which is always a lie.
Panelists, including Bourgault, attempted to answer the question, “What actions do stakeholders need to take to preserve a healthy trust ecosystem?” I guess that would depend on who they call stakeholders.
Are American citizens with First Amendment free speech rights considered stakeholders? Not on your life.
Bourgault noted that one of the most effective ways to prevent people from being exposed to so-called false information is to create lists or recommendations for advertising that warn them where to spend their money and where not to spend it.
Does anyone on that panel understand that conservative information that they disagree with is not immediately deemed false information just because they disagree? For instance, when studies stating that donning a mask does not stop the transmission of COVID-19 came out, the leftist-owned social media sites that cowered under the boot of the Biden administration censored users who spread that information. I would think those studies were important for people to know.
The government wanted people wearing masks because they were training Americans how to be obedient. Every time you went out and saw other people wearing a mask, it reminded you that the government could force you to wear a mask when you didn’t want to.
And even if it was disinformation, a group of rich people have no right to censor someone from saying it. The best way to get good information is through more free speech, not censorship.
“Disinformation makes money, and we need to follow that money, and we need to work with, in particular, the global advertising industry,” Bourgault went on to say. “A lot of those dollars go to pretty bad content. So you can work really hard on exclusion lists or inclusion lists just to really try to … focus their ad dollars toward the good news and information. The accurate and relevant news and information.”
These people are monsters. They want to create a society where people only say and do what they deem appropriate. And they are going to use digital currency to enforce their grand designs.
Bourgault was frustrated that social media platforms do not have enough “trust and safety people” to monitor and remove “disinformation” disseminated on their platforms. It’s called free speech and the majority of people on the platforms do not like it when their free speech is censored.
I say that for one year the world should censor everything that comes out of the mouth of Jeanne Bourgault and see how she likes it. She should be banned from social media platforms, news media outlets, and Davos. Let her see how what she is proposing for everyday people feels when it’s done to her.
According to the nonprofit’s website, Internews aims to provide people around the world with “trustworthy news and information to make informed decisions about their lives and hold power to account.”
“We train journalists and digital rights activists, tackle disinformation, and offer business expertise to help media outlets become financially sustainable,” it says on its website.
The organization seeks to prevent “disinformation designed to manipulate elections, distort public debate, incite violence, or undermine public health.” Internews also emphasizes the need to keep social media platforms accountable for ensuring that “quality information” provided online is “prioritized” and “disinformation is removed.”
Fellow panelist Vera Jourová, vice president for values and transparency at the European Commission, stated that disinformation poses a challenge to improving global security and collaboration.
“Disinformation is a security threat. And maybe not many noticed, but it was part of the Russian military doctrine that they will start information war. And we are in it now,” Jouravá explained. “How we think about it in the [European Union]: We are focusing on improving of the system where the people will get the facts right.”
There is nothing more frustrating than when you are censored for spreading information that you know is not fake news as you have the sources to back it up, and these clowns who are saying they want to protect you from disinformation are lying through their teeth. They simply want to control what the people read and hear and anything that proves them wrong will be shut down, and the people involved will be punished. That is the fascist future these horrible people are designing right now at Davos.
Jouravá said that the EU does not seek to suppress beliefs or language. Regarding the EU’s efforts to combat the spread of misleading information, she stated that social media companies are now required by law to remove disinformation. She went on to say that the “last resort solution” to the problem of so-called false information is “law enforcement.” Jouravá cited a surge in anti-Semitism and warned that disinformation spread online could lead to actual threats.
Isn’t it very telling that the people who get to decide what is disinformation are always globalist leftists who want to force a worldwide great reset on you without a care in the world of how the people are being treated under their guidelines.
