Former President Donald Trump just snagged Michigan’s Republican primary like it was the last piece of pie at Thanksgiving dinner. The Associated Press (AP), bless their hearts, called it for Trump right around the time folks are settling down for their evening cup of tea, at 9:00 p.m. ET. And let me tell you, he didn’t just win; he walloped his competition, former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), with a whopping 65.6% of the vote to her 30.2%, and that’s with just a sip of the votes counted.
Now, Michigan was dishing out 16 delegates like hotcakes at a state fair, but the real show is set for Saturday at Michigan’s GOP state convention, where they’ll be handing out the remaining 39 delegates like it’s a blue-ribbon contest.
And if you thought the drama ended there, oh boy, you’re in for a treat. Trump’s victory in Michigan is like the cherry on top of a sundae. Poor Nikki Haley lost to him by a country mile in her backyard in South Carolina just the other day. It seems Trump’s been collecting wins like a kid collects baseball cards, with victories in Iowa, New Hampshire, the Virgin Islands, and Nevada.
Pastor Ryan Binkley dropped out of the race, tipping his hat to Trump. “Today, I am suspending my campaign for the Presidency of the United States of America and offering my endorsement and unwavering support for President Trump,” he said, making it official on X.
Today, I am suspending my campaign for the Presidency of the United States of America and offering my endorsement and unwavering support for President Trump. I would like to thank my family, friends, campaign team, 80,000 plus financial supporters, and the hundreds of volunteers…

The stage was crowded at the beginning, with more contenders than in a county fair pie contest. But one by one, they’ve tipped their hats and stepped aside, leaving Trump shining in the spotlight. Notables like Govs. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Doug Burgum (R-ND), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have all thrown their support behind Trump.
As the dust settles on Tuesday night, Trump’s already sitting pretty with a lead that’s as wide as the Mississippi River. And poor Haley, she’s trailing in the dust with just a handful more delegates than DeSantis, despite running in more races than a greyhound at the track.
And just when you think it couldn’t get any tougher for Haley, she gets hit with the news that’s colder than a winter breeze in Michigan. Americans for Prosperity, backed by the Koch brothers, decided to close their wallets on her campaign. Too bad. So sad. Bye-bye, money.
Meanwhile, Trump’s already setting his sights on the big prize, eyeing up the general election like it’s the last dance at the prom. He and President Joe Biden are gearing up for what’s sure to be a showdown at the southern border on Thursday, making moves like chess players in a tournament.
So there you have it. A story of triumphs, setbacks, and everything in between. It’s politics at its finest, served up with a side of humor and a dash of sarcasm, just the way we like it. For Trump, it’s onward to more victories.
