It looks like one of the Squad members will not be returning to Congress next year and let’s hope more will fail in November as well. Jamaal Bowman is down by 17 points in the first poll taken this year. Westchester County Executive George Latimer is leading Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman by 17 points just two months out from the primary in New York.
Bowman’s only achievement in Congress was to support Hamas over Israel and delaying a vote in the House by pulling a fire alarm for which he got less than a wrist lap. Latimer is a pro-Israel Democratic challenger to the “squad” member. Bowman has been very critical of Israel which is not real popular in the county just north of New York City with a significant Jewish population. The terror attack left at least 1,400 dead and another 240 taken as hostages.
DMFI PAC Chairman Mark Mellman said in a statement:
“To put it plainly, Congressman Bowman’s constituents are very unhappy with him but very impressed with County Executive Latimer. The combination of Latimer’s sterling image and voters’ distinctly negative assessments of Bowman may cost the incumbent congressman his seat. Bowman’s constituents are even divided on whether he even cares about them, but the vast majority believe Latimer meets that central test. It’s simple: George Latimer is highly regarded, while Jamaal Bowman is widely unpopular.”
The DMFI PAC announced endorsements on Wednesday for both Latimer and St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell, who is challenging Bowman’s fellow pro-Palestinian “squad” member, Democratic Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri. An early February MO Scout and Remington poll found Bell beating Bush by 22 points ahead of the August Democratic primary for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District.

Bowman also drew national media coverage and a misdemeanor charge when he pulled a fire alarm before a contentious vote to keep the government open in September 2023.
The Mellman Group/DMFI PAC survey polled 400 voters in Bowman’s district, “representing the likely June 2024 Democratic primary electorate,” between March 26 and 30 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9%.
Neither Bowman nor Latimer’s campaigns immediately responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman‘s (D-NY) hopes of being elected to another term could be fading fast, according to a new survey, which finds him facing a double-digit deficit.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer leads Bowman by a 52-35% margin, according to pollster Mark Mellman.
Mellman hails from the Democratic Majority for Israel, an organization with a PAC that has endorsed Latimer over Bowman. It has offered endorsements to Bowman’s fellow New York Democrats, including Reps. Tom Suozzi, Hakeem Jefferies, Dan Goldman, and Ritchie Torres among others.
This poll comes after Bowman issued a scathing criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a “maniac” who “needs to be removed,” the lawmaker said. Bowman has long called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. The poll found that over 60% of the district is for the United States offering more support to Israel.
Bowman was also censured last year after pulling a fire alarm in the Capitol. The representative pleaded guilty to the charge, issued an apology to Capitol Police, paid a $1,000 fine, and spent three months on probation.
The Washington Examiner reached Bowman’s campaign for comment.
