By Sunday morning of the July 4th weekend, at least 87 people had been shot, and 16 had died in Mayor Brandon Johnson‘s (D) Chicago. It used to be Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago, and now we are learning that gender means nothing because it’s the Democratic Party that allows all these murders to go on unchecked.
Between Wednesday night and Friday night, the first part of the holiday weekend, at least 58 people were shot in the city. I can’t wait for the update to heyjackass.com, a site that has tracked shootings in Chicago since forever. They have every stat you can think of.
ABC 7 and the Chicago Sun-Times reported that someone in Chicago called July 4th “assassination day” because of all the violence.

Democrats love to call for gun control laws because innocent people are getting killed, but I’ve never seen a Democrat mayor in Chicago do anything serious to curb gun violence outside of harming law-abiding gun owners with gun control laws that criminals never obey. I mean, that is why we call them criminals, right?
Chi-Town Sun/ABC 7Times said that many of the crimes had more than one gunman and some were drive-by shootings where the number of shooters was unknown. There were several events that were called “mass shootings,” and many people were killed.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELVaughn Bryant, head of Metropolitan Peace Initiatives, said this about the violence: “It’s our city, and anything that is happening in our city as citizens, it’s our responsibility… You can’t complain that you don’t have businesses or things that are going on when we’re not keeping it safe in the areas for the businesses to thrive.”
Raul Perez, who lives in Chicago, said, “They got to stop the guns. You know? You can’t go out at night. You know, you’re afraid to go out at night because you’re gonna get shot or something.”
On Tuesday, an emergency services aid center will open in the Windy City to help people get through the holiday weekend.
