People laughed when President Trump called for Canada to be the 51st state. The liberals in charge in the north are no longer laughing as the province of Alberta is seeking to leave that liberal hellhole. And guess what they want to do after gaining their freedom? They want to become the 51st state. Alberta is oil-rich and would bring more than they would take because they seek freedom. They are now working on a referendum to separate from the People’s Republic of Canada.
The people in Alberta hated Justin Trudeau, and even though he resigned, his replacement, Mark Craney, is just as bad, and they fear he will take away even more of their freedoms. And one has to wonder if more provinces will opt out as well. None have expressed that desire as of yet.
The New York Post reported:
“Premier Danielle Smith announced this week that the oil-rich province could hold its first-ever referendum on independence in 2026, as the area’s pro-51st state activists ramp up calls to ditch the Great White North in favor of the star-spangled banner. ‘Staying with Canada is finished’, Alberta resident Steve Harvey, 52, told The Post. ‘We’ve been an eagle locked up in a cage for decades because of Canada. It’s time that we’re set free’.”
Smith said this week in a livestreamed address to Albertans:
“’They’ve blocked new pipelines, cancelled various oil and gas projects and banned the very tanker ships needed to carry these resources to new markets.'”
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL‘We just want to be free to develop and export that incredible wealth of resources we have for the benefit of our families and future generations’.”
“’I made it clear that Albertans will no longer tolerate the way we’ve been treated by the federal Liberals over the past 10 years.’”
“Speaking on a livestream address, Danielle Smith said she personally does not support the province leaving Canada and expressed hope of a ‘path forward’ for a strong and sovereign Alberta within a united Canada.
‘Should Ottawa, for whatever reason, continue to attack our province as they have done over the last decade, ultimately that will be for Albertans to decide’, she said. “I will accept their judgement’.”
This development follows the victory of Mark Carney, ushering in the fourth consecutive Labour government.
New PM Carney will meet US President Donald J. Trump today (6) to work out trade issues and the threat of annexation.
“Smith accused previous federal Liberal governments of introducing different legislations that hamstring Alberta’s ability to produce and export oil, which she said has cost the province billions of dollars. She also said she doesn’t want the federal government meddling in provincial issues.”

We don’t want any of the liberal element.
If it’s a very conservative majority in that area, that would be great. The rest can congregate in the east.
From what I see in the news, Alberta wants independence, not necessarily statehood. If the other western provinces join them, They would make a small but viable country. That might be better for the US. If Manitoba and British Columbia join, that’s a lot of people that vote liberal. It wasn’t just Quebec that voted for Trudeau.
