You won’t believe this story. Then again, you probably will believe it because at this point, nothing surprises us anymore.
So here’s what happened. FBI Director Kash Patel dropped a bombshell earlier this month. Turns out the FBI had an intelligence report sitting around from August 2020 that talked about “alarming allegations” involving what looks like a Chinese communist plot to mess with our presidential election. And guess who they wanted to help? Joe Biden.
Now here’s the thing that’s going to make you absolutely furious. If this information had come out back in 2020, it would have completely vindicated everything Donald Trump and Bill Barr were saying about voter fraud and foreign election interference. But what did the establishment call their concerns? “Unfounded” and “preposterous.”
Turns out some people in our intelligence community decided to just… hide this whole thing. Whoops!
“Former FBI leadership withheld the facts and misled the public on China’s 2020 election interference,” Patel said Thursday. “And they did so for political gain.”
He also said something interesting: “We’re restoring trust — through transparency, not politics.”

He just sent a criminal referral for former FBI Director Christopher Wray straight to the Justice Department. He wants Wray held accountable for allegedly covering this up AND for supposedly lying to Congress about that bizarre FBI memo targeting traditional Catholics.
The Lying Gets Worse
So Blaze News got hold of this referral that went to both the DOJ and Patel’s office. It accuses Wray of breaking federal law by giving false testimony to Congress about voter fraud efforts they already knew about.
Picture this: On September 24, 2020, Wray sits in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee with a straight face and tells them the FBI had “not seen, historically, any kind of coordinated national voter fraud effort in a major election, whether it’s by mail or otherwise.”
Then on March 2, 2021, he does it again. Tells the Senate Judiciary Committee that the FBI was “not aware of any widespread evidence of voter fraud, much less that would have affected the outcome of the presidential election.”
Both statements are apparently complete garbage when you consider what the FBI knew about this alleged Chinese communist operation to help Biden win.
Want to know how obvious this was? U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced on July 27, 2020, that between January and June of that election year, CBP officers at Chicago O’Hare had seized 1,513 shipments of fraudulent documents. That includes 19,888 fake U.S. driver’s licenses.
Where were these coming from? “The majority of these shipments were arriving from China and Hong Kong, with other seized shipments arriving from Great Britain and South Korea,” CBP said.
That August 2020 FBI intelligence report connects the dots. The theory is that the Chinese communist regime was mass-producing fake American driver’s licenses to create fake voter identities for Chinese nationals. The goal? Get them to vote using phony mail-in ballots.
Patel told Just the News that while the allegations checked out, they “were abruptly recalled and never disclosed to the public.”
The Oversight Project makes it clear there’s no way Wray didn’t know about this report when he was testifying to Congress.
Why? Because Wray was getting regular briefings about election threats from Nikki Floris, the FBI deputy assistant director for counterterrorism. She had already warned in October 2019 that China was “aggressively pursuing foreign influence operations.”
And They Went After Catholics for Good Measure
The House Judiciary Committee put out a report in December 2023 showing the FBI:
“abused its counterterrorism tools to target Catholic Americans as potential domestic terrorists”;
“relied on at least one undercover agent to develop its assessment”;
“proposed developing sources among the Catholic clergy and church leadership”; and
would probably still be “violating the religious liberties of millions of Catholic Americans” if FBI whistleblower Kyle Seraphin hadn’t exposed them.
This all started when someone leaked a memo from the FBI’s Richmond office that basically labeled Catholics as violent extremists.
Wray told Congress the Richmond office only produced a “single product.” Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa proved that it was yet another lie.
Grassley revealed the memo went to over 1,000 FBI employees across the country. Plus, the FBI created “at least 13 additional documents and five attachments that used anti-Catholic terminology and relied on information from the radical far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).”

The criminal referral says Wray repeatedly lied about this anti-Catholic memo. His “testimony was inaccurate not only because it failed to reveal the scope of the memo’s production and dissemination, but also because it failed to reveal the existence of a second draft product on the same topic intended for external distribution to the whole FBI.”
It gets more specific: “Furthermore, a query of Sentinel (the FBI’s case management system) identified 13 documents and 5 attachments that included the term, ‘radical traditionalist catholic’ or ‘Radical-Traditionalist Catholic’ in the FBI systems.” The memo itself states “(U) Prepared by the Richmond Division and the Domestic Terrorism Operations Unit; coordinated with FBI Milwaukee and FBI Portland Divisions.”
Don’t Hold Your Breath for Justice
Between his lies about election interference and his lies about targeting Catholics, the Oversight Project thinks Wray committed multiple crimes. Obstruction of congressional proceedings, corrupt conduct, and making false statements.
When asked if he expects Wray to actually face consequences, Howell told Blaze News something that tells you everything about our justice system: “I don’t expect accountability, but we certainly deserve accountability.”
“Accountability for the bad actors in government would be practically a case of first impression,” Howell said. “To expect it would be unrealistic optimism, but it should and could happen, and that’s why the Oversight Project is making the case publicly and doing everything we can to make it more likely to happen.”
So there you have it. The FBI had evidence of Chinese election interference, buried it, and then their director allegedly lied to Congress about it. They also spent time treating Catholics like terrorists. And the guy trying to hold them accountable doesn’t even think it’ll work.
