Chicago police leadership is under fire from its own people. Two longtime ranking sources are blasting the official version of events after ICE agents called for help when protesters rammed their vehicles and boxed them in. The department said officers responded, but the insiders told Fox News it was nothing more than, in their words, “COVER THEIR A– BULLS–T!!”
According to Fox News, the truth came out in a computer dispatch message. It revealed that Chicago police officers were ordered by the chief of patrol not to respond, even as federal agents pleaded for backup. Border Patrol agents had radioed in, saying they were trapped outside the city after being rammed, but the stand-down order went out anyway.
The dispatch message read:
“PLEASE CHIEF OF PATROL NO UNITS WILL RESPOND TO THIS AS RELATED FROM 04-Oc5-2025/12:34:44…CALLER IS 1 OF APPROX 30 ARMED PATROL AGENTS (ICE) WHO ARE BEING SURROUNDED BY A LARGE CROWD OF PEOPLE REQUESTING CPD.”

Saturday morning was pure chaos. Federal agents were rammed by 10 vehicles, surrounded by anti-ICE protesters, and left boxed in. Nearly a dozen arrests followed.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThe Chicago Police Department tried to get ahead of the criticism with a statement on Sunday. They said officers did show up.
“To clarify misinformation currently circulating, CPD officers did in fact respond to the shooting scene involving federal authorities on Saturday to maintain public safety and traffic control,” the department said.
The statement also claimed federal authorities were handling the investigation while CPD officers stayed to keep order. They added that officers later responded to two separate hit-and-run crashes involving federal personnel.
“The Chicago Police Department will always respond to anyone who is being attacked or is under the threat of physical harm,” the department said. “For incidents involving federal immigration enforcement, CPD supervisors will respond to the scene and determine the appropriate course of action in accordance with City law.”
That version of events doesn’t match what insiders are saying. Two senior sources told Fox News it was false.
One source said the department’s statement is “not true,” and pointed to “legit” dispatch audio.
The second source went further: “Their statement is COVER THEIR A- – BULLS- -T!! The IRT team was called off while they were en route to handle the shooting—the ETs were told to disregard.”
He didn’t stop there. “I’m so irate about it I filed FOIA requests last night. I have never been more embarrassed to be a former member of this department with the current leadership in place. I feel for the men and women left behind, forced to work under these cowards as their command channel.”
The same source explained how to read the dispatch audio. “999 is the watch commander of the 9th District.”
“Initially, they were going to meet a bit of a distance away from the location, obviously to give proper instructions,” he said. “Then he got back on and told them not to go… that is the lieutenant. He was obviously given instructions and changed what he initially said from ‘go there’ to ‘do not go there.’”
He also broke down the codes, saying 900 would be a commander and 962 a tactical sergeant in plain clothes. Officers did show up briefly but were pulled back by the order.
“The scene was chaotic and they were obviously blocked in,” the source said.
It is painfully clear that Chicago’s leadership, blinded by its obsession with Trump, is working against the federal government to protect violent criminal illegal aliens in their own neighborhoods. Local police may not be required to help ICE carry out arrests, but when ICE agents issue a distress call, those officers have a duty to respond. And the city leadership gave out a stand-down order, knowing there could be serious consequences.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin confirmed the danger federal agents faced. She said one driver accused of ramming law enforcement had a semi-automatic weapon. She added that agents “were forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed U.S. citizen.”
That armed citizen was identified as Marimar Martinez in a Customs and Border Protection bulletin. According to DHS, Martinez had already doxxed federal agents and posted online, “Hey to all my gang let’s f— those motherf—— up, don’t let them take anyone.”
And now you see exactly why those agents wear masks on the job. Remember this the next time some sleazy Democrat whines about agents covering their faces while doing dangerous work.
McLaughlin said no federal officers were seriously injured and noted that Martinez drove herself to the hospital for treatment. Another driver, Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, was also arrested after allegedly joining in the ramming attack.
The FBI responded quickly. “Trying to intimidate law enforcement will not slow us down,” Deputy Director Dan Bongino wrote in a statement online. “The mission will not stop.”
The Chicago U.S. Attorney’s Office also weighed in. They called the situation “serious” and said officers’ “life and safety” had been at risk.
“This Department of Justice does not tolerate assaults and obstruction of our brave men and women in federal law enforcement,” the office posted on X. “We will investigate and prosecute all those who assault or obstruct federal law enforcement, including public officials, and we will hold them accountable to the full extent of the law.”
DHS laid out what happened in more detail. Agents were on routine patrol about 15 miles from the ICE processing center in Broadview when “domestic terrorists” began attacking with smoke, gas, rocks, and bottles. An ICE vehicle was disabled and swarmed. Agents had to abandon it for their own safety. DHS said the vehicle was badly damaged.
CNBC did a piece called “Follow the Money: Who is Funding the Anti-ICE Protests?” It’s your favorite billionaire ghoul, George Soros.
Five people were arrested Saturday, bringing the total since Friday to 10, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. Illinois State Police said the new charges included resisting and obstruction.
The ICE facility in Broadview has become a rallying point for anti-ICE protests. Fox News reporters on Friday saw more than a dozen protesters arrested outside the facility.
Hours later, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker jumped in, blasting federal law enforcement and the Trump administration. He accused them of “unprecedented escalations of aggression against Illinois citizens and residents.”
This all comes after ICE announced Operation Midway Blitz earlier this month. The agency described it as a mission that “will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew Governor Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets.”
If blue cities are going to continue to do this, then the federal government should not notify them when they are coming. Either way, heads should roll for intentionally putting federal agents in harm’s way.
