Nancy Pelosi recently got 35 Republicans to join Democrat ranks to establish a January 6 Commission to figure out what happened the day a two-and-a-half-hour riot broke out at the Capitol building, but in reality, the Democrats are going to use the commission to keep their Big Lie that there is some looming terrorist threat by white nationalist Qanan Trump supporters. The Democrats say they want to have questions answered, but one question they seem to never want to answer is who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed female Air Force veteran who posed no threat to anyone and was surrounded by police officers?
Democrats always demand the immediate release of a police officer’s name after a police shooting, typically so that we can intimidate the police, and the Woke Supremacy mob can then dox the cops and go to their homes to cause mayhem there. Yet, America still does not know the name of the officer who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt.
The lawyer representing the Babbitt family is preparing a $10 million lawsuit, demanding accountability for her murder.
In a world where Black Lives Matter (BLM) and other leftists do lie about police shootings when a black American is involved, claiming that the person was “murdered” by the police while they disregard any of the facts of the case, it’s odd that they would overlook this situation when Babbitt clearly posed no threat to anyone when she was shot and killed right in front of other police officers who were not concerned about her at the time.
On Thursday, a Maryland-based attorney Terrell Roberts told The Washington Times, “Right now, we have no accountability, zero accountability, they give no explanation to justify the shooting and they do not even identify the officer.”
“That is what they do in autocratic countries, not in the United States,” Roberts told the paper.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELFor what Democrats are labeling an “insurrection” the only person who shot and killed that day as a direct result of the riot was Ashli Babbitt, and Roberts called out members of Congress who oversee the Capitol Police for not having demanded transparency over Babbitt’s fatal shooting.
“If we call ourselves a free people, you would think that Congress would be the first to demand transparency of its own police agency but you don’t hear that,” he said.
Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ) earlier this month during a hearing demanded to know who “executed” Ashli Babbitt, who Gosar described as unarmed and wrapped in a US flag.
“Was the death of Ashli Babbitt a homicide?” he asked, the Washington Times reported. “As the death certificate said, it was a homicide.”
The Times reported that no answer was forthcoming.
Did you know that in April federal prosecutors cleared the Capitol officer who shot and killed Babbitt from any criminal wrongdoing?
In a statement on April 14, the DC US Attorney’s office stated that after investigating the shooting, prosecutors found “no evidence to establish beyond a reasonable doubt” that it was unlawful.
How? The officer was not being threatened by Babbitt in any way.
“Specifically, the investigation revealed no evidence to establish that, at the time the officer fired a single shot at Ms. Babbitt, the officer did not reasonably believe that it was necessary to do so in self-defense or in defense of the Members of Congress and others evacuating the House Chamber,” the statement reads. “Acknowledging the tragic loss of life and offering condolences to Ms. Babbitt’s family, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and U.S. Department of Justice have therefore closed the investigation into this matter.”
Imagine street cops in any jurisdiction other than DC trying to say that the officer should not be disciplined because he felt he needed to defend himself when there was a video showing the cop was in no immediate threat whatsoever. See how well that would go over.
The shooter cop has still not been identified and is still working on the Capitol Police force.
Babbitt was a Trump supporter and illegally entered the Capitol on January 6 to protest the 2020 election certification. She was squatting on the windowsill of a broken window, preparing to enter the chamber, when the Capitol officer shot her in her shoulder. Babbitt was taken to Washington Hospital Center where she died.
Roberts said he will sue the Capitol Police under the Federal Tort Claims Act and the Times reported that the family is going to file claims against the officer who shot Babbitt.
“The purpose of the case is to hold the police officer and the Capitol Police accountable for violating Ashli Babbitt’s constitutional right; that is the purpose,” Roberts said.
I can’t help feeling that had Ashli Babbitt been a BLM protester trying to go through that window for some other cause and was shot and killed, the officer would have been named and hung out to dry by now. She and her family are not getting justice because the Democrats want to keep an anti-Trump wave going by continually pushing the narrative that a domestic terrorist attack happened that day, and providing justice to the Babbitt family would screw up their 2020 reelection efforts.
