The second installment of Elon Musk’s “Twitter Files” was posted on Thursday night, exposing the social media platform’s hidden “blacklisting” of specific tweets and overwhelmingly conservative individuals.
“A new #TwitterFiles investigation reveals that teams of Twitter employees build blacklists, prevent disfavored tweets from trending, and actively limit the visibility of entire accounts or even trending topics—all in secret, without informing users,” journalist Bari Weiss tweeted out Thursday when opening her thread to share her knowledge of what took place behind the scenes at Twitter for so long.

Weiss exposed the fact that Dan Bongino, a very popular figure in the conservative movement, had a specific ban placed on him as well.

6. Twitter denied that it does such things. In 2018, Twitter's Vijaya Gadde (then Head of Legal Policy and Trust) and Kayvon Beykpour (Head of Product) said: “We do not shadow ban.” They added: “And we certainly don’t shadow ban based on political viewpoints or ideology.”

17. The account—which Chaya Raichik began in November 2020 and now boasts over 1.4 million followers—was subjected to six suspensions in 2022 alone, Raichik says. Each time, Raichik was blocked from posting for as long as a week.

18. Twitter repeatedly informed Raichik that she had been suspended for violating Twitter’s policy against “hateful conduct.”

Being that Twitter is the modern day town square, when you think about the level of censorship that went on there, you have to wonder how many things happened since the censorship started that are really bad for the country and for people, specifically due to the censorship? For example, how many people died because truthful medical information was censored simply because the information disagreed with the Democratic National Committee’s narrative? Look at the hell that our country has gone through since the day Joe Biden took office. Could this have been avoided if Twitter didn’t censor the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story? There are polls that say that Democrats in the 70% range claimed that they never would have voted for Biden had they known about the laptop story.

“On the subject of the 2020 election, 79% overall said it was “very” or “somewhat” likely that “a truthful interpretation of the laptop” would have resulted in the reelection of former President Donald Trump instead of the election of President Biden.”
The biggest question of all is will anyone be held accountable? Will anyone in government be held accountable for forcing social media companies to censor free speech? Or will they have gotten away with it all?
