On Friday, the Delaware Supreme Court ruled that mail-in voting is unconstitutional in Delaware. The court also ruled that same-day voter registration is out.
It was a unanimous decision when the Delaware Supreme Court ruled that the state’s mail-in voting and same-day voter registration laws are unconstitutional, and neither of them will be allowed in the November 8 midterm elections.
The court’s ruling, which came just a day after hearing oral arguments, is a major defeat for Democrat Governor John Carney and the Delaware Democratic Party. Boo hoo for the Democrats.
The court wrote that the vote-by-male statute “impermissibly expands the categories of absentee voters identified in Article V, Section 4A of the Delaware Constitution.”
Concerning same-day registration, the court said that statute conflicts with Article V, Section 4 of the Constitution.
The state Supreme Court published its ruling in a three-page abbreviated order so as to give as much time as possible for election officials and voters to communicate and understand the coming midterm elections.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELTraditional voting, that does not help the Democrats as much as mail-in voting and same-day registration, was not affected by the court’s ruling. Voting is a right, but it comes with responsibilities. If you haven’t registered to vote by Election Day, then you’re not really serious about voting. If you are able but you don’t want to go vote in the traditional way, then you’re not really serious about voting.
This ruling is a huge win for election integrity because these two items are a recipe for voter fraud. Democrats should be happy about this as it is a giant leap forward for election integrity.
Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings went full-blown partisan blowhard over the ruling.
“Delawareans are still struggling with COVID, and the GOP is working to make it harder and less safe for people to vote,” Jennings said.
If it were up to the Democrats, COVID would be around forever because there are elections every two years; a presidential election and then congressional elections in between. They used COVID to demand mail-in ballots. Now that’s over.
It’s just so delicious that it happened in Joe Biden’s home state.
“Whether it’s pulling votes on a constitutional amendment, withholding them on popular vote by mail legislation, or suing to restrict ballot access, the Delaware Republican Party is showing us the lengths they’ll go to stop the people from voting,” Jennings added. “Extremists are celebrating today at voters’ expense.”
Someone should tell her that three of the five judges who heard the case are Democrats, so the argument that the Republicans pushed this is asinine. To make matters worse for Jennings, all five judges were appointed by Democratic governors.
Republicans were happy with the ruling. Delaware GOP chair and former attorney general Jane Brady told Fox News that she was “very pleased that the court upheld the language of the constitution,” adding, “This is a win for the rule of law.”
