The FBI is now running a criminal investigation into two of the most powerful former intelligence officials in modern American history. That’s right. John Brennan, former CIA Director. And James Comey, former FBI Director. According to Fox News, this is all connected to the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.
Fox reports that DOJ sources confirmed it. They say CIA Director John Ratcliffe has given evidence concerning Brennan to FBI Director Kash Patel. And yes, an investigation into Comey is also underway.
We’re talking about serious stuff here. This isn’t just about a sloppy report or bad judgment. The investigation is reportedly focusing on potentially false statements made to Congress. That’s a felony, by the way.
This all comes after a broader review of the Trump-Russia investigation. You remember that circus. The government now says the whole thing had major problems. Specifically, it was determined that the “decision by agency heads to include the Steele Dossier in the ICA ran counter to fundamental tradecraft principles and ultimately undermined the credibility of a key judgment.”
Let’s pause there. That’s huge. The “key judgment” in that report was the idea that Russia wanted Trump to win. That judgment was supposedly based on solid intelligence. But now we’re being told that including the Steele Dossier violated the basic rules of intelligence gathering.
To drive the point home, Ratcliffe declassified a “lessons learned” review of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, or ICA. That’s the official report that claimed Russia attempted to push Trump into office. But according to the review, the report had “procedural anomalies” and officials rushed through it, thwarting standards used in the intelligence community.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELSo what does that mean? It means they ignored how real intelligence is supposed to be handled and instead discarded it. Specifically, the Steele Dossier, which was later proven to be filled with false claims about Trump. And who paid for that dossier? Fusion GPS, hired by none other than Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC. Both ended up paying a fine for it.
Now we get to the juicy part. A source speaking to Fox News couldn’t give all the details, but said point blank that Brennan “violated the public’s trust and should be held accountable for it.” That’s a pretty bold claim. Especially when you look at what Brennan said in public versus what actually happened.
Back in 2023, Brennan told Congress that “the dossier should not have been in the ICA.” But here’s the kicker. The records from the declassified review show he pushed for its inclusion in the 2017 ICA.
Fox News lays it out clearly: “The false statements portion of the probe stems from a newly declassified email sent to Brennan by the former deputy CIA director in December 2016. That message said that including the dossier in the ICA in any capacity jeopardized ‘the credibility of the entire paper.'”
And it gets even better. According to the CIA review of the ICA documents, “Despite these objections, Brennan showed a preference for narrative consistency over analytical soundness.” That’s bureaucratic talk for “he wanted the story to match the narrative, not the facts.”
Then this bomb drops. “When confronted with specific flaws in the Dossier by the two mission center leaders – one with extensive operational experience and the other with a strong analytic background – he appeared more swayed by the Dossier’s general conformity with existing theories than by legitimate tradecraft concerns.”
So they told him the dossier was flawed. He heard it. And he still wanted it in the report. Why? Because it fit the political story they were trying to sell.
It’s all right there in black and white. “Brennan ultimately formalized his position in writing, stating that ‘my bottom line is that I believe that the information warrants inclusion in the report.'” And then, years later, he told Congress the opposite.
In his 2023 testimony, Brennan said, “The CIA was very much opposed to having any reference or inclusion of the Steele dossier in the Intelligence Community Assessment. And so they sent over a copy of the dossier to say that this was going to be separate from the rest of that assessment.”
However, the documents indicate that he pushed it. He insisted on it. He wanted it there.
So here’s the question. Why would someone with Brennan’s experience ignore intelligence procedures and put questionable information in a report that was supposed to guide national policy? And why is he now claiming he was against it?
We’re finally getting some answers. And apparently, the FBI wants a few more.
