In the wake of deadly flooding in Texas, Democrats are lining up to say, “See? We told you so.” They’re pointing fingers at the Trump administration, claiming that cuts to the federal workforce—specifically weather experts—are to blame. Senator Chris Murphy even jumped in to say, “Accurate weather forecasting helps avoid fatal disasters.”
So now we’re supposed to believe the entire flood was caused by… fewer meteorologists?
The implication here is that because of staffing changes, the National Weather Service, or NWS, wasn’t able to do its job. But here’s what the White House had to say about that. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt debunked the lies of the loony left in the media and the loony Democrats by pointing out, “These offices [of the NWS] were well staffed… so any claims to the contrary are completely false.”

And get this—when BBC Verify actually dug into it, they found that while, yes, there have been staffing reductions at the NWS, the team handling the Texas floods still had enough people on the ground.
Let’s go over what really happened.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELThe Trump administration proposed a 25% reduction in the budget of NOAA, the federal agency responsible for overseeing the National Weather Service. But—and this is key—that budget cut isn’t even set to take effect until the 2026 fiscal year. So, the libnuts are blaming Trump for something that just happened in 2025? Before the actual cuts took place?
It doesn’t make sense—unless, of course, you’re one of those hollowed-out souls infected with stage-five Trump Derangement Syndrome. The kind who would rather conjure a fake scandal than face a fact. These are the people who will crawl through any sewer, dig through any filthy rabbit hole, and invent any grotesque fiction just to smear the one man they can’t control. And here they are again—pointing fingers while the floodwaters haven’t even receded, while families are still digging through debris for loved ones. It’s political necrophilia, plain and simple. What kind of moral corrosion does it take to behave like this? What shattered piece of their humanity gave way to this depravity?
And yet, on queue, here come the media puppets and blue-check geniuses blaming Trump for the Texas floods. Apparently, the laws of time no longer apply if you’re part of the brain-melted Resistance. These people are now blaming a budget cut that hasn’t even taken effect… for a natural disaster that already happened. That is weaponized delusion. You’d think they’d stop at stupid, but no. They go full soul-dead shouting, “It’s Trump’s fault!”
It’s sick. It’s vile. And it tells you everything you need to know about the people still screaming about Russia, collusion, and now, weather balloons.
Back in January, an efficiency program began reducing the NWS workforce. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, rolled out buyouts and early retirements. According to Tom Fahy, who heads legislative efforts for the NWS union, 200 folks took buyouts, 300 took early retirement, and another 100 were fired. The ones who were fired most likely deserved it.
That’s 600 people out of about 4,200. Which sounds bad, until you hear what actually happened during the floods.
BBC Verify reported that “the NWS forecasts and flood warnings last week in Texas were as adequate as could be expected.” And this wasn’t just their opinion. Avantika Gori, an assistant professor at Rice University, said, “The forecasts and warnings all played out in a normal manner. The challenge with this event was that it is very difficult to forecast this type of extreme, localised rainfall.”
And Andy Hazelton, who worked for NOAA modeling hurricane paths before being laid off, chimed in too: “I don’t think the staffing issues contributed directly to this event. They got the watches and the warnings out.”
NWS spokeswoman Erica Grow Cei said: “The NWS weather forecast offices in Austin/San Antonio and San Angelo, Texas had additional forecasters on duty during the catastrophic flooding event.” She added, “All forecasts and warnings were issued in a timely manner.”
Meteorologist Jason Runyen added that while they normally have two forecasters during clear weather, during the storm, they had “up to five on staff.”
And when asked about whether staffing cuts left key NWS roles vacant, President Trump answered, “No, they didn’t.”
Now here’s where it veers straight into circus territory. Social media, as usual, has become a madhouse of weather balloon hysteria, staffing conspiracies, and deranged hot takes. And leading the charge into the realm of intellectual flatulence is none other than YouTube’s favorite smug know-nothing, David Pakman. He kicked off his latest video with a rant so laughably disconnected from reality, it could be studied in labs. According to Pakman, voters who supported Trump are too cowardly to admit that Trump is doing exactly what he said he’d do, which somehow caused people to die. He called it “disgusting,” which is rich coming from a guy who clearly couldn’t locate his rear end with both hands and a map.
To be clear, I’m not here to pick on Pakman. That would be too easy—like shooting fish in a barrel with a rocket launcher. No, the point here is bigger. This is the exact playbook of the Trump-hating left. They invent nonsense, run with it as if it’s gospel, and then build an entire narrative on top of a lie. It’s not journalism. It’s not commentary. It’s pathological hatred disguised as political analysis.

Meteorologist John Morales claimed in a video that, “There has been a 20% reduction in weather balloon releases, launches… What we’re starting to see is that the quality of the forecasts is becoming degraded.”
And sure, it sounds dramatic. But there’s no evidence that this affected the situation in Texas. In fact, the Del Rio station, which is the closest to where the flooding occurred, launched its balloons as usual.
The NWS admitted in multiple statements that they suspended or reduced balloon launches at 11 locations. They said it was due to local staffing shortages. But none of that applied to the stations near the Texas flooding.
Bottom line? The staffing cuts are real, but the warnings and forecasts for the Texas floods were still on point. This wasn’t some government failure. It was an extreme weather event—one that even the best systems in the world might not have predicted perfectly.
But that won’t stop critics from taking a tragedy and using it as a political talking point. The Left are the ones who are disgusting.
