So, James Comey. Remember him? The man who ran the FBI during one of the most disgraceful episodes in modern history. Well, he’s finally been indicted. A grand jury nailed him on two counts: false statements to Congress and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.
Now, Fox News Digital broke this story. Back in July, they reported Comey was under investigation. The question was simple: did he lie under oath in September 2020 about how he handled the FBI’s Trump–Russia probe, the one they called “Crossfire Hurricane”? Turns out, prosecutors think he did.
Pam Bondi, the Attorney General, wasted no time. She said it flat out: “No one is above the law. Today’s indictment reflects this Department of Justice’s commitment to holding those who abuse positions of power accountable for misleading the American people. We will follow the facts in this case.”

And the FBI’s current director, Kash Patel, didn’t hold back either. He posted: “Today, your FBI took another step in its promise of full accountability.”
But Patel really drove it home: “For far too long, previous corrupt leadership and their enablers weaponized federal law enforcement, damaging once proud institutions and severely eroding public trust. Every day, we continue the fight to earn that trust back, and under my leadership, this FBI will confront the problem head-on. Nowhere was this politicization of law enforcement more blatant than during the Russiagate hoax, a disgraceful chapter in history we continue to investigate and expose.”
And then this line, “Everyone, especially those in positions of power, will be held to account – no matter their perch.”

This isn’t rhetoric. The indictment spells it out. Count one: obstruction of a congressional investigation into the disclosure of sensitive information. Count two: lying about whether he authorized someone at the FBI to act as an anonymous source. Prosecutors say he did. He lied.
And here’s some more joy: it isn’t just Comey. Fox is reporting that former CIA Director John Brennan is also under investigation for his role. That changes everything. Russiagate doesn’t look like incompetence anymore. It looks like a coordinated abuse of power at the very top.
The timing? Critical. Prosecutors had five years to file charges. That clock ran out on Tuesday. They barely made it. The case is now in the hands of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Let’s not forget the history. “Crossfire Hurricane” started in July 2016. By May 2017, Trump had fired Comey. Within days, Robert Mueller was brought in to take over. Two years later, after endless headlines, Mueller’s investigation collapsed. By March 2019, he had nothing. No conspiracy, no coordination between Trump and Russia.
Then came John Durham. His job was to figure out how this mess started. What he found was devastating. The FBI “failed to act” on a “clear warning sign” that Hillary Clinton’s team was pushing a plan to “manipulate or influence the law enforcement process for political purposes.”
Durham didn’t mince words: “The aforementioned facts reflect a rather startling and inexplicable failure to adequately consider and incorporate the Clinton Plan intelligence into the FBI’s investigative decision-making in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.”
He continued: “Indeed, had the FBI opened the Crossfire Hurricane investigation as an assessment and, in turn, gathered and analyzed data in concert with the information from the Clinton Plan intelligence, it is likely that the information received would have been examined, at a minimum, with a more critical eye.”
And finally this: the FBI “failed to act on what should have been—when combined with other incontrovertible facts— a clear warning sign that the FBI might then be the target of an effort to manipulate or influence the law enforcement process for political purposes during the 2016 presidential election.”
So let’s be clear. The people who accused Donald Trump of colluding with Russia were the ones manipulating the system the whole time. And the man at the center of it — James Comey — is now facing the consequences.
This entire saga reminds us of something simple but profound: when powerful people believe they are untouchable, they will push the system until it breaks. James Comey’s indictment isn’t just about one man lying to Congress. It’s about exposing years of corruption, manipulation, and arrogance at the highest levels of government.
The same institutions that tried to brand a sitting president as a Russian agent now find themselves under scrutiny. And that’s exactly how accountability works.
The question now isn’t whether Comey and Brennan will face justice. The question is whether the American people will ever get the full truth about what was done in their name.
At long last, justice is beginning to reach those who orchestrated Operation Crossfire Hurricane, and the American people may finally see accountability for one of the most corrupt abuses of power in modern history.
