On Monday, the congressional Republican Study Committee slammed the Senate’s proposed $1 trillion infrastructure bill as a “Trojan horse” for Democratic social spending and “Green New Deal” programs. In other words, you’re being charged $1 trillion so that Democrats can spend it to get voters to think they care about them when all they are really doing is grabbing more powers that Constitutionally they don’t have.
The group’s chairman Representative Jim Banks (R-IN) provided a memo headlined “Top 10 Infrastructure Package Roadblocks,” which contains from his conservative caucus a number of talking points against the bipartisan agreement announced Sunday night. It’s bipartisan because most Republicans are really Democrats while no Democrats are really Republicans. It’s a real problem for the freedom and security of our country.
The first item notes an analysis by the Club for Growth, which found that only $110 billion are actually going toward roads, bridges, and other construction projects “that the American people consider ‘infrastructure.’”
The Democrats call pretty much anything they want money for “infrastructure.”
The memo refers to the bill as a “Trojan horse” designed to help them sneak the “radical agenda” of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Joe Biden through Congress noting Pelosi’s recent vow that tied its fate to the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill being proposed by Democrats.
On July 25, Pelosi told ABC’s This Week, “I won’t put it on the floor until we have the rest of the initiative.” This woman is evil.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELUsing the reconciliation process, many items related to a budget don’t have to worry about a filibuster in the Senate. This is why Democrats are adding everything they can to the bill, even though the infrastructure bill is not a budget package. It will be up to the parliamentarian to tell the Democrats they can’t throw certain things into a budget bill just because they want to shove it down the throats of the American people who are paying for all of it. Things like an amnesty bill that has nothing to do with the budget. Think about that. Democrats want to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens living here so that they can vote Democrat in the 2022 elections. What kind of chutzpah does it take to an amnesty provision to a bill costing a trillion dollars to taxpayers?
The memo reveals that $66 billion is targeted for freight and passenger rail that “builds on the Green New Deal plan to replace air travel with trains” and would “help fulfill [the] vision” of the goofy Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) (AOC) by expanding Amtrak, which has never made a profit but now they want the taxpayers to be accountable.
During this time, Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) referred to the agreement made Sunday night by a bipartisan group of 22 senators (remember, most Republicans are really Democrats but no Democrats are really Republicans) as a “good and important jumping-off point” and only complained that Democrats should not adopt an “artificial timetable” in order to pass it. Seriously, Mitch?
On Monday, during a speech on the floor of the Senate, McConnell said, “Senators on both sides expect and deserve opportunities to have a say and to put their own states’ imprints on this major bill.”
“Just as infrastructure itself is not a luxury, but a necessity, the same goes for the Senate having a robust and bipartisan amendment process on legislation of this magnitude.”
Back in May, McConnell said stopping Biden’s agenda was “100 percent of my focus.” So then why last week did he help advance the measure during a procedural vote?
Banks points out that the bill, all 2,702 pages of it, does nothing more than push for Marxist the “social justice” agenda using the word “equity” 64 times in the document. Equity sounds nice, like equality, but it’s not good at all in the way that the Democrats intend to use it. For them, equity means if you work harder than your neighbor by maybe working two or three jobs, it’s not fair that you earn more money to buy more things than your neighbor, so they think the government has a moral obligation to take from you and give it to your neighbor. Equity in this sense is government-sanctioned theft.
Banks also said the legislation would give “woke” regulators the ability to decide “where and when broadband expansion occurs,” mentioning a provision in the bill’s “Digital Equity Act of 2021” that bars discrimination based on “gender identity” and which was exposed on social media by the American Principles Project, a conservative political action committee.
“We are very concerned about the digital divide impacting lower-income Americans in rural and urban areas.
But Democrats are not. That’s why they wrote their infrastructure bill to emphasize woke intersectional identity politics. This should be a deal-breaker for Senate Rs.”
