CNN has announced the hiring of recently retired – because he realized a glass of water with an R on it could beat him in his next election – Representative Adam Kinzinger as a senior political pundit. There was a 50% chance MSNBC would have offered him a gig too.
The Illinois Republican had been in the House since 2011, generally operating under the surface until 2021, when he rose to prominence as one of the most vocal anti-Trump Republicans. He was one of only two Republicans on the House January 6 committee, and he gained public attention by becoming more active on social media.
After his rebranding, he opted not to compete for reelection, maybe anticipating an electoral outcome similar to that of another prominent anti-Trump House Republican, former Representative Liz Cheney (RINO-WY).
Kinzinger is about to embark on a new career as a CNN senior political pundit.
In a broadcast on Wednesday, anchor Erin Burnett revealed Kinzinger’s surprising hiring.
“I am pleased to welcome [Kinzinger] to CNN. He is appearing tonight in his new role, which is senior political commentator. Congressman, we really are thrilled to have you here on board,” Burnett explained.

Kinzinger’s post-congressional future had been speculated about. Despite his rebranding himself, he maintained a left-wing voting record on nearly all topics throughout his term.
According to conservativereview.com, a site that keeps score on all members of Congress over how they vote. The scores are based on whether they vote for a bill that is pro liberty or anti liberty.
Adam Kinzinger scored a 34% out of 100 making him one of the worst Republicans in Congress.
Kinzinger’s new job will almost certainly see him continue his scathing criticisms of former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party along lines he says are moderate. But he will forever be remembered as being one of the two RINO traitors who served on Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Select Committee to trash a president of his own party and go along with the lies and deceitfulness of the Democrats who rant the committee like a Soviet Union Politburo.
