On Saturday, city leaders said that the budget for the New York Police Department would be cut and the money would be used to help with the illegal immigration problem. The stupid Democrats are willing to hurt the NYPD even more to handle a problem created by his party’s leader, President Joe Biden.
New York City is dealing with a lot of crime and an influx of illegal immigrants that has never happened before. Though the city leaders have virtue signaled for years now about how The Big Apple is a sanctuary city, not really.
Many of the illegals, including women and children, may soon be forced out of shelters and into tents on the street.
Over the weekend, Budget Director Jacques Jiha wrote in a memo that Mayor Eric Adams, who recently said that the migrant crisis could “destroy” the city, will soon “issue a directive to implement an overtime reduction initiative for our city’s four uniformed agencies.”
I bet the street criminals are rejoicing.
There is the New York Police Department, the Fire Department, the Corrections Department, and the Sanitation Department. All of these departments are very important to the city and its people. But Mayor Adams doesn’t have the cajones to stand up to the Biden administration and tell them to close the border for the sake of his own people. Adams cares more about the politics of the Democratic Party than he does the citizens of New York City.

The head of the Police Benevolent Association, Patrick Hendry, said the people who came up with this idea have lost touch with reality.
“It is going to be impossible for the NYPD to significantly reduce overtime unless it fixes its staffing crisis,” he said. “We are still thousands of cops short, and we’re struggling to drive crime back to pre-2020 levels without adequate personnel.”
Only a Democrat administration would even think about making these cuts in the current climate the city is in.
It’s being reported that the city is spending close to $10 million per day to deal with the flood of illegal migrants, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
When budgets for important city services are cut by a lot, they will only be able to meet two-thirds of the expected costs.
Who would have thought that Joe Biden would screw over Democrat-run cities like this?
As millions of more illegals come to the US, shelters and other sites are getting full. Adams told PIX11 on Sunday that people who had gotten to sleep inside first would no longer be able to do so.
“We’re going to have to eventually move women and children into congregant settings,” he said, adding that, “some migrants might have to move into outside tents.”
“This is not an academic exercise, this is not a utopia,” Adams said, adding, “New York City cannot manage 10,000 people a month with no end in sight. That can’t happen, and that is going to undermine this entire city.”
Adams should have argued for Biden to close the border years ago. Not a single NYC reporter will bring up that he asked for this by remaining a sanctuary city after he was elected.
