Lifelong Democrats Are Walking Away After Charlie Kirk Shooting

We’re getting news out of Utah Valley University. It’s been about 100 hours since Charlie Kirk was shot, and what’s happened since is unbelievable. Social media has exploded with videos of lifelong Democrats, not Republicans, Democrats, going viral as they renounce their own party. Not just drifting away. Renouncing it. They’re saying, out loud, they’ll never touch the Democratic Party again.

Watch enough of these clips and the pattern jumps out. Again and again, people admit they were blindsided by just how demonic, how barbaric, the modern left has become. The online celebrations after Kirk’s murder didn’t just horrify conservatives—they horrified Democrats. They’re stunned, disgusted, sick to their stomachs. Many confess they never imagined their side could sink this low. And now? They’re leaving by the tens of thousands. As Brandon Straka once said, this isn’t a passing doubt. It’s the great walking away.

And make no mistake, this isn’t about policy. It’s not about taxes or healthcare. It’s moral disgust. One former Democrat flatly admitted, “The lack of empathy is utterly disgusting. We are the worst. We Democrats are thx baddies.” That’s not a conservative talking. That’s a Democrat calling her own side “the bad guys.” Then she renounced the party for good.

What we’re watching is a collapse. Wednesday’s violence and this mass exodus are symptoms of something deeper—a death rattle. Historian Chris Bray says Charlie Kirk’s assassination is proof of institutional collapse on the left. He’s right. Political movements only turn to violence when they’ve lost the ability to persuade. And persuasion is exactly what Charlie Kirk embodied. His events were debates, conversations, and real arguments. The woke left can’t do that. They censor, they silence, they cancel. The only place that ends is violence.

Even the assassin’s ties to the trans movement fit the script. Camille Paglia warned years ago that late-stage liberalism collapses into sadomasochism—a desire to mutilate bodies that won’t obey ideology. That’s why the left obsesses over transgenderism. That’s why mutilation is paraded as politics.

So this isn’t a debate anymore. This is sadism. A sick pleasure in human pain. And the more Democrats cling to it, the more Americans walk away.

Charlie’s assassination was meant to silence conservative voices. Instead, it ripped the mask off. Millions of Americans—Democrats included—are recoiling in horror.
