They’re calling it a massacre, and the legacy media is absolutely losing its mind over it. Turn on any big network, and you will see the same dramatic routine. This week, President Trump removed a large group of immigration judges at once. Headlines warned that a purge had begun, but almost no one bothered to explain why it happened. They skipped the part that matters most, which is that this move may be one of the most precise decisions of his presidency.
President Trump has been removing immigration judges from their benches across the country at a speed nobody expected. He fired eight in New York City after letting six go in Manhattan not long before that. Those actions wiped out a major portion of New York’s immigration bench. San Francisco had fifteen judges removed, which left the city with fewer than half the judges it had the year before.
That still does not show the full picture. Since January, the number of judges removed has passed one hundred. That figure represents close to twenty percent of the immigration court system.
And some are fighting back.
From Reuters:
A former immigration judge filed a lawsuit on Monday claiming she was wrongfully fired by President Donald Trump’s administration, which she says relied on an “unjust” belief that the president can legally discriminate against federal workers based on their sex, national origin and political affiliation.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELIn her lawsuit, filed in federal court in Washington, D.C., Tania Nemer said the U.S. Department of Justice fired her on February 5 shortly after the beginning of Trump’s second term in office because she is a woman, a dual citizen of Lebanon who is the child of immigrant parents, and had earlier in her career run unsuccessfully for local office as a Democrat.
So let me get this straight. A female judge is suing a female attorney general for firing her because she’s… a female. Yeah, that should be a real masterpiece of legal logic. Wonder how that’s going to play in court.
Most of these immigration judges are getting fired because instead of doing their actual job, they have turned into personal defense attorneys for illegal aliens. When someone skips a deportation hearing, the judge is supposed to issue a bench warrant. Pretty basic. A lot of these judges never bothered, basically handing out de facto amnesty like it was a party favor. Their job is to move deportation cases forward and remove people who came here illegally. They decided to do the opposite.
You might be thinking, “Now wait a minute, Rich. Judges do not work under the executive branch, so the president can’t fire them.” And that would be true if these weren’t immigration judges. These judges are not federal judges who serve a lifetime appointment. They do not have those protections. They are employees in the executive branch. Their job is to hold hearings that decide whether a noncitizen can stay in the United States or has to be removed. They work for the Executive Office for Immigration Review inside the Department of Justice. They report to the attorney general, Pam Bondi, who reports to the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
This structure means that immigration judges serve at the direction of the president. The Constitution gives the president the ability to remove inferior officers. Immigration judges fall into that category. So this is not a power grab. This is the government doing exactly what the Constitution outlines as executive authority.
The media is treating this like a national crisis because they do not want anyone digging into what these judges were really up to.
An investigation by NPR (of all organizations) showed that a large number of the dismissed judges once worked as defenders of illegal migrants. NPR pointed out one judge in Manhattan, David Kim, who had the highest asylum approval rate in the entire courthouse. The administration believed that judges like Kim were far too lenient and were allowing individuals to remain in the country who should have been ordered to leave.
This leniency is a big reason the system is buried. There are now nearly 4 million immigration cases waiting. The backlog nearly tripled in only four years. The Biden years. That’s what happens when you leave the border wide open as policy. Illegals wait almost four years for a hearing. And the Biden administration didn’t send them away during that four-year waiting period. They allowed them to remain in the country to do God only knows what, like shooting National Guard soldiers. Some New York cases are scheduled into the next decade. That is not compassion. That is a collapse.
This backlog did not grow by chance. A slow system helped a political plan. Cases stalled, and that delay gave Democrats more time to push large-scale amnesty. Immigration courts turned into holding rooms where nothing moved unless it supported that goal.
The part that truly alarms the political left is what comes next. Trump is not only removing judges. He is bringing in people who plan to enforce the law.
The Department of Homeland Security created a new type of position known as a deportation judge. These jobs can pay up to two hundred thousand dollars per year and offer remote options. The people applying for these jobs do not come from migrant advocacy or immigration defense groups. They come from military service, law enforcement, or federal agencies.
This shift is intentional. This is Trump’s strategy with no hesitation.
Left-wing activists admit that these removals are changing the entire deportation process. The system they built over many years is being taken apart. Democrats are so rattled that they introduced legislation to control who may serve as a temporary immigration judge. Their goal is to keep military attorneys out of these positions. They know what would happen if the court system worked as designed. People who are not legally allowed to stay would be required to leave. Laws would be enforced instead of delayed. The old tactics that clogged the system would disappear.
The media calls these changes chaotic, but millions of Americans see something different. They see overdue accountability after decades of failure.
Trump’s approach fits into a global trend that political scientists call postsecurity politics. People around the Western world are rejecting globalist policies that weakened border control, damaged economic stability, and reduced cultural cohesion. Mass immigration lowered wages, strained communities, and brought in groups that never adjusted to the American way of life. Citizens want their countries to work again.
Trump is acting on that demand.
Rasmussen reports that sixty-six percent of likely voters support Trump’s deportation plan. A New York Times poll shows almost the same number supports deporting all illegal migrants who entered during the past four years. People are exhausted. They want action. They want national sovereignty restored.
The media describes this as a purge, but the reality looks very different. This is a correction. Immigration courts were filled with judges who protected illegal migrants instead of the country. President Trump is clearing out that system. He is appointing judges who will move cases forward and apply the law. Judicial activism in immigration courts is coming to an end.
The so-called Monday Massacre was not a tragedy. It was promises made, promise kept.
