Despite all the countless jokes about Al Gore inventing the internet, it’s obvious that the former Vice President knows little about how the internet operates, and he may know even less about the First Amendment’s free speech clause.
At the Bloomberg Green Summit at COP28, Gore urged for the prohibition of social media algorithms.
Comparing Gore’s stance on the Second Amendment’s right to keep and bear arms, Gore argued that algorithms that condition the path of social media, like AR-15s, pose a threat and “ought to be banned.” If you were on the fence about this guy being loony-tunes, I think he just made up your mind.
Gore lamented the rise of social media, saying it had “disrupted the balances that used to exist that made representative democracy work much better.”
“…If you have social media that is dominated by algorithms that pull people down these rabbit holes that are a bit like pitcher plants, these algorithms, they are the digital equivalent of AR-15s. They ought to be banned. They really ought to be banned,” he said.

That’s where the echo chamber is. And if you spend too much time in the echo chamber, what’s weaponized is another form of AI, not artificial intelligence. Artificial insanity. I’m serious. I’m serious.”
Of course, we all know instinctively that Gore is not harping on the censorship algorithms used by social media platforms to infringe on the free speech rights of conservatives. He is working up to something else entirely because he is a Democrat, after all, and Democrats love a rigged system, no matter the system. Social media platforms have been working with Democrats to write algorithms that censor anything the Democratic Party does not like. After the Twitter Files dumps, approved by Elon Musk, you shouldn’t trust any of the major social media platforms. They exposed the unfathomable level of fascism between the Democratic Party and social media platforms. The majority of them still censor us every day.
Social media algorithms on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are used to choose what free speech to show you and, more importantly, what not to show you. When you navigate through your feed, these algorithms select posts, photographs, or videos that they believe you would enjoy based on your previous activity, as long as they are Democrat-approved.
To understand how the algorithms work, think about yourself at a sports event where a lot of other fans can be heard talking, shouting, and chanting. The algorithm is the special person in the crowd who can listen to every discussion all at once and determine which ones you should be listening to. The point was supposed to be that the algorithm would determine this according to what you have already listened to before, so it knows what you like, but since the Democrats turned to fascism, it puts in your feed what they want you to see and removes what they don’t want you to see.
Could Gore be making these comments because the Democrats fear they cannot control all AI language models to censor the free speech of information that would expose their lies? That makes more sense than anything else.
The Democrats under the Biden administration tried to create a 1984 dystopian Disinformation Governance Board. We know they censored social media platforms. It’s no secret that in September, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) recently hosted a summit on getting AI to censor speech, and Joe Biden’s handlers got him to sign an executive order to do the same. Democrats want to silence what they consider “unacceptable views.”
Censorship kills. Think of how many people might not have died from China’s gift to the world in late 2019 and early 2020 had they known about ivermectin being able to treat it. Every major platform got marching orders to censor any speech about the treatment, including from licensed medical doctors, because the Democrats used the illness to get rid of a popular president.
In short, an informed populace is very dangerous to political grifters.
