If there’s one thing Seattle never fails at, it’s electing the worst mayors in America—and Bruce Harrell is proudly carrying that torch. Meanwhile, Republicans are racing for Heaven, if only to avoid being stuck for eternity with Democrats. Sometimes it feels like if an ANTIFA member committed murder, Harrell wouldn’t just look the other way—he’d roll out a ticker-tape parade and mount the victim’s head in the town square like some twisted tribute.
The Seattle Times reported there were about 500 attendees on each side. The “Don’t Mess With Our Kids” rally at the park was part of a five-city tour called May Day USA, seeking to protect children from the radical LGBTQ agenda.

Mayor Harrell Statement on Extreme Right-Wing Rally at Cal Anderson Park
Seattle is proud of our reputation as a welcoming, inclusive city for LGBTQ+ communities, and we stand with our trans neighbors when they face bigotry and injustice. Today’s far-right rally was held here for this very reason – to provoke a reaction by promoting beliefs that are inherently opposed to our city’s values, in the heart of Seattle’s most prominent LGBTQ+ neighborhood.
“When the humanity of trans people and those who have been historically marginalized is questioned, we triumph by demonstrating our values through our words and peaceful protest – we lose our voice when this is disrupted by violence, chaos, and confusion.
“Anarchists infiltrated the counter-protestors group and inspired violence, prompting SPD to make arrests and ask organizers to shut down the event early, which they did.
“While there are broad First Amendment requirements around permitting events under free speech protections, I am directing the Parks Department to review all of the circumstances of this application to understand whether there were legal location alternatives or other adjustments that could have been pursued. The Police Department will complete an after-action report of this event, including understanding preparation, crowd management tactics, and review of arrests and citations.
“I am grateful for those who make their voices heard in support of our neighbors without resorting to violence. In the face of an extreme right-wing national effort to attack our trans and LGBTQ+ communities, Seattle will continue to stand unwavering in our embrace of diversity, love for our neighbors, and commitment to justice and fairness.”
Prayer Activism Movement Calls Public Events In Five Major Cities
The grassroots movement #DontMessWithOurKids, which met to pray outside every state capitol on April 13, 2024, has planned a new series of outdoor events called Mayday USA. The events are happening throughout May in five major cities across America: New York, Miami, Houston, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
“We are currently living in a hinge of history moment that will impact generations to come. One that demands a response from every man and woman on the face of the planet,” said organizers Jenny Donnelly and Ross Johnston. “As millions of babies are aborted every year, hundreds of thousands of children are trafficked, and the nations of the earth are in crisis—we can no longer sit silent and remain quiet.”
The #DontMessWithOurKids movement stands for the sanctity of human life, the sacrality of biological gender, the importance of the nuclear family, and the right to freedom of speech and religion. Mayday USA events will offer prayer and resources to help post-abortive men and women, trafficking victims, those who desire freedom from same sex attraction, and those who are struggling with sexual and drug addictions throughout their restoration process.

Seattle police press release on the arrests:
Officers arrested 23 people at a protest inside Cal Anderson Park Saturday afternoon.
Police working to keep two different groups apart, witnessed multiple people inside one group throw items at the opposing group around 1:30 PM Saturday. Officers immediately moved to arrest the people responsible, and while taking the individuals into custody, were assaulted by more protesters, resulting in even more arrests. In total, officers arrested 11 during the inital scuffle.
Officers escorted the arrested individuals out of the crowd and later transported them to the Seattle Police West Precinct for processing.
Police stayed on the scene for the remainder of the event.
Throughout the afternoon, 12 additional arrests were made for assault and obstruction.
