Chris Wallace closed his eyes, clicked the heels of his ruby slippers, and repeated the phrase “There’s no place like home” over and over again. But instead of waking up in the Fox News offices, he was still at CNN. Did you hear that? Fox News just let out a sigh of relief. Show hosts are supposed to supply their boss with viewers. This proves Fox delivered an audience for Wallace.
Wallace often criticized President Trump and his supporters and many conservatives dialed him out. Wallace must be kicking himself for leaving Fox. but not as much as the person who decided to hire him. They are paying him big bucks to deliver low ratings. They should have hired me. I could have gotten terrible ratings for much less money.
Wallace drew only 401,000 viewers and just 43,800 in the all-important 25-54 demographic. By comparison, “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy” drew 1.3 million viewers, including 78,000 viewers aged 25-54. Wallace did do slightly better than Gen. George Custer, but it was close.
“Total Bomb!” @johnnydollar01 shared the news. “Chris Wallace’s CNN Show Premiere Tanks, Pulls Only 44k Viewers In Key Demo. The program was down double digits across every category vs the 2022 average. On Fox @TGowdySC scored a massive 1.3M viewers with 78k in the key 25-54 age demo”
Wallace said when he left Fox:
“After 18 years, I have decided to leave FOX. I want to try something new, to go beyond politics, to all of the things I’m interested in. “I’m ready for a new adventure, and I hope you’ll check it out. And so, for the last time, dear friends, that’s it for today.”

Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable. I spent a lot of 2021 looking to see if there was a different place for me to do my job.”
From radaronline:
An insider with knowledge of the situation told RadarOnline.com, “He went over there for Zucker and now Zucker is gone. Wallace feels that he has been stiffed. He’s got no staff, no Executive Producer, and the guy he gave up a prized gig for has just walked out the door.”
In April, CNN+ was shut down one month after launch, and Wallace’s show was put on ice. The new CNN CEO Chris Licht decided to keep the show and move it to Sunday night and has it airing on HBO Max at the same time.
