When you hear the words “smug” and “elite,” it’s almost impossible not to picture the Democratic Party these days. Once known as the “party of the working class,” they’ve transformed into the go-to club for wealthy, out-of-touch elites. Their trademark? They look down their noses at “the little people” and mock anyone who dares think they deserve a say.
It wasn’t always this way. There was a time when the Democrat Party at least pretended to stand up for the middle class. But then, President Trump took that famous escalator ride nearly a decade ago and blew the whole charade wide open. They couldn’t hide it any longer—the mask was off. What followed has been one wild ride, with the left fully embracing their inner snobs.
Sure, we’ve all gotten used to the elitist, know-it-all vibe that comes standard with most liberal leaders. But now and then, they still manage to shock us with just how smug they can get. Take, for example, this recent clip featuring Bill Maher and Dr. Phil. In it, Bill Maher manages to pack an incredible amount of arrogance and elitism into just a few moments. Watching him, it’s hard not to wonder how such an intelligent guy can be so wrong about where the American voter is today. The Biden regime’s policies didn’t hurt Maher because he’s rich. He doesn’t feel the hurt of not knowing how you’re going to pay your bills or feed your family.
Maher might like to play the role of the enlightened everyman on his HBO show, but at the end of the day, he’s no different from the rest of the Democrats. Like a true snob, he’s tucked away in his bubble, firing off one out-of-touch prediction after another as if they were pearls of wisdom. Who are we—the “peasants”—to question him or any of the elites about the direction of the country? That’s the vibe he puts off, and frankly, it’s disturbing. But, hey, it’s par for the course with today’s Democrat Party.
Now, let’s talk about the left’s obsession with what I like to call “firsts.” These wealthy white liberals have it all—they’re living the high life with security and luxury. But somehow, they’ve decided their big mission in life is to chalk up as many “firsts” as possible. They’re the party of the “firsts”: the “first black president,” the “first woman president,” the “first pretend black woman president,” and someday, they’re probably gunning for the “first gay president.” Meanwhile, the rest of us are just out here trying to afford groceries, dodge World War III, and live in communities not overrun with issues.

They just don’t get it.
VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNELFor the Democrat elites, it’s all about social issues and diversity points. Things like the economy and crime? Not on their radar. Why should they be? They’re not the ones struggling to make ends meet. In their world, the real priority is getting a black trans president who’s had 17 abortions—or something along those lines. Actual skills? Qualifications? Competence? Those things are secondary. And that’s exactly how the DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) movement has wormed its way into every corner of our society. Once you see the truth behind it, you realize it’s all about control. The left loves a charity case because a charity case is a lot easier to manipulate than a true leader.
In the end, all that smugness covers up a deep insecurity that most Hollyweird leftists feel because they suffer from imposter syndrome. They think if they don’t cater to the liberal base of Hollywood they will somehow become unpopular. Maher is lucky he’s a funny guy and that like a broken clock he’s right twice a day, but did you ever hear someone get something like the 2024 election so wrong?
